I got the same calls. I did have a US bank account at one time and it went negative by about $2 then they started adding on fee after fee and suddenly tried to say I owed a few hundred. US bank is a scam if you ask me. wells Fargo just got their [***] sued for that same shady type of banking. I called all the numbers back before 6pm but get nothing but a recording and a voicemail.  My guess is a third party debt collector bought up a bunch of old debts and is trying to collect anything they can.

We got this message while we were on vacation and thought we were REALLY in trouble. Said something like "Good morning. My name is Mr. Walton and today is Tuesday the 5th day of October 2010. It's imperative you listen to this message in it's entirety and correspond. (blah, blah...)  I have appointed one of my intermediaries to contact you in reference to this matter. (blah, blah...) Since you haven't contacted us, we feel it is necessary to take further action. Please call me by 6PM October 9th. (blah, blah...)" We were freaking out...I take that back, my HUSBAND was freaking out. I thought it sounded a little fishy. So this AM I Googled the number and found out it's a scam.

On Oct 15, 2010 I got a message (on my cellphone) that I needed to call Mr Jones. He indicated that they have tried many times unsuccessfully to contact me so I only had until 5pm same day to get back to them or they would go ahead with their proceedings. This was a taped recording of some sort from 1-877-591-7732. Note: I never had any accounts with US bank as mentioned above. Total Scam!

Had a vmsg from Mr Jones to call 877-591-7732 about some matter, that they have attempted to call many times before and to return the call by 5pm, today, 10/15/10.  I called from work and first gentleman that got my call, didn't say anything for a while and then said sorry, sir, and hung up.  I called, again, and spoke with a lady that started out by yelling to someone else in the office that she's got it, she's got it, she'll take this one.  I gave her the number they left the msg on she said it must have been a mis-dial because it is not coming up in their system.

I received a call from this number and was told to call and ask for Mr. Jones.  They didn't mention my name, so there is no way that this is legit.

These people called me for the first time today. I called my Attorney and submitted a formal complaint to my State Attorney Generals.[http://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/] theres the one for Ohio.If people would just turn these people in for these acts they can be stopped. They also called back one time from this number 1-877-481-1140 after being told not to call back here again .So I put both numbers on my complaint. Do not never give them any information at all. If you have an Attorney handling something for you all parties have the information needed and should not be contacting you .Everything that is done is thru your Attorney. If its a debt you owe and have no Attorney get the info from the people on who its for,the amount owed, then contact the right people at where debt is owed and ask them if they turned your debt over. Never send no money until you do this and have confirmation that it is your debt.If the company they say you owe the money to tells you that you don't have them send you a letter stating this and keep in your files.

It was "Mr Jones" received a file transmitted to his office prior to today. After several unsuccessful attempt to contact me, they'll need to advance forward with the "assessment process". They need me to call before 5PM today or they'll begin the process (?)

I have received several calls from 877-591-7732 and 877-591-7654.
Both times, it is an automated message asking me to call back.
Once I called back immediately upon receiving the number and got an answering machine that gave options such as asking if I wanted to speak to someone about an outstanding legal case, etc.   I chose the operator option and, not surprisingly, no one answered.

This has scam written all over it.  I'm just not sure what it's about or how they received my name/number.
I am on the national no-call register, btw.

    FYI

Same thing. Call before I go forward without you...

Times are tough everywhere and the collectors are extremely agressive. Do not call back, simply report them.

Report to FTC and attorney general, always. This usually stops these tirading harrassers immediately.
Forms are on the web for each state.

Who knows? We owe no one anything and I got a call on a cell phone that was not even in my name.
By the way, register your cell phones with the DO NOT CALL registry. Find number on web.

I've been getting these as of late, but know of no debts!  I had a few magazines try to automatically renew subscriptions I didn't ask for and try to collect, but that is all I can think of!  If there is this much information out there about this scam, why is the FBI doing nothing about it?  Makes me wonder why we pay them a salary!

Received 10/16/10 at 1:01 P. M. what appeared to be a recorded message.  Male voice, very stiff, as though unaccustomed to speaking English. Name of caller was garbled, as was name of company, so both unidentifiable.  Said office was closed, but would reopen on Monday--that I must contact him next week or he would "proceed", whatever that means, but it sounded menacing.  Obviously a scam, but what kind I haven't a clue.
