Court I had the same happen to me.. They closed my account for an overdraft when I have a paycheck more than enough to cover the overdraft going in every 2 weeks. I called the bank to find out why my debit card wasn't working at the arm only to then find out my account was closed.  They didn't even have the decency to call and tell me, I find out by going to the ATM thinking I'm going to get money on payday.  I had to wait a week for a paper check from work. The lady on the line said she was going to transfer me to whatever department to help me (thinking maybe they were gonna re open it or actually help me) and she had actually transferred me to the overdraft collection department. So some stoner sounding guy wanted to know if I could pay the negative balance that day and I'm like um no because now I don't have my paycheck since you guys closed my account so my direct deposit from work was returned to my employer..   So after getting my paper pay check and going to the bank today to see if I could open a new account, the banker asked me if I could pay the negative balance and I said yes, thinking if I did they would open the account, so then he was like "let me see if I can get the manager to override and approve to open an account". He was literally gone for like ONE minute... Not loNg enough to ask anybody anything. So they just wanted to take my money but not open the account.  Then he advised me to go to a "smaller" credit union because the "bigger" banks are on the same reporting system and may not open an account for me.  [***]! Wells Fargo just didn't want me going to a competitor.  But how this relates to this forum is that I paid off my negative balance and that number has stilled called me a few times since then, but no message and or hangs up before I can answer.   Wells Fargo has lost all of my respect and will never regain my business after all of this.

I've gotten 35 calls from this number in the last 2 weeks.  They call 2 or 3 times everyday.  There have been 2 instances where a "message" was left, but when I listen to it all I hear is elevator music and a robotic voice that tells me to "stay on the line for the next available representative".  I read other comments saying that it is possibly Wells Fargo.  I had a savings account with them years ago but I closed it (in good standing) after I switched to another bank.  I doubt it is Wells Fargo though.  I just chalked it up to another scam and added them to the blacklist on my call blocker.

Today is Feb. 25.  I started receiving calls from this number on January 18.  Between then and now I have received 78 calls from this number.  They call up to 3 times a day and never leave a message.  I have them on my call blocker, but I added up the times that they have called and I am floored.  I don't know who they are or what they want.

TO: LMAO: How about not making assumptions. We just got a new phone, with a new number and they call us over and over again. They don't speak when we answer the phone, nor is there any message in the voice mail. Don't assume people don't pay their debts just because "Wells Fargo" is calling their number. It could very well be they actually have the wrong number.

I had an account at Wells Fargo when it got to a negative balance because I changed my Direct Deposit but they were still charging me $35.00 every time someone tried to put a check through the bank. They call 6 to 7 times a day. I have not received a letter from them regarding in overdue balance. I will pay them when I can afford it.

This is NOT a legitimate Wells Fargo call center number. Do not be fooled.  It is a scam to get your bank account information. I have Wells Fargo I have for years and my account has never been negitive and I have always been in good standing with them and I was getting these phone calls more then ten times in a day.  I finally answered and it was someone claiming that my account was over drawn which I knew wasn't true because I had just gotten paid the day before. So I told them this and she immediately was like well what's your account number and social security number and I will look it up for you.  I told her I would not give her that information and hung up.  Then I started noticing that they would only call on the day and a few days after I would get my direct deposit from work. I finally called  Wells Fargo themselves gave them the phone number that was bothering me and they told do not answer that call anymore that is not one of there phone numbers and that they do not make those type of phone calls if your account is overdrawn.

you are completely wrong. It is not a legitimate number from Wells Fargo.  Wells Fargo is my bank I've been using them for years I have always been in good standing with them and I have never gone over drafted in my account and I was receiving these phone calls just randomly all of a sudden and have confirmed with an actual Wells Fargo representative in person face to face that The phone number is not a Wells Fargo phone number it is not a debt collector from them it is 100% a complete scam. as soon as you talk to the person on the other line the first thing that they ask you for is your account number and your social security number and when you call and talk to an actual Wells Fargo representative they do not ask you for that information.

except you're wrong and its a scam not an actual bank calling. it's somebody trying to get your social security number and your account number it's the very first thing that they ask you when you answer the phone if you are actually talking to a real Wells Fargo representative or a real bank representative they wouldn't ask you for your account number and your social security number They lookup your account a different way I have Wells Fargo I received these calls I know this information personally because I've done my research and know for a 100 percent fact that this is completely a scam and it is not real and do not fall for it because they will take money from your account if you give them your information

This number calls every day up to 4 or 5 times a day.  Today alone between 8 a.m. and 10:15 I have gotten 4 calls from them.  I don't know who they are or what they want but until the government does something to stop these jerks I guess they'll just continue to fill up my call blocker blacklist log.

I was wondering what was going on here....we have a WF account but not overdrawn.....ever. How strange for them to keep calling. No one is ever on the line when I answer.....plus this is a business line.

I'm skeptical. Why don't they (Wells Fargo) mail me? And, if they don't I  will pursue the matter in person. Also, ATT can provide immediate blockage by request if they are available in that area.

Sir, I don't have a Wells Fargo account and never did. But yet they call at least once a week.
I pay my bills, maybe they just want to rip people off

They call me 3-5x everyday. Never answer, and never get a voicemail. CocoaConnie pretty much nailed the issue at hand on the head, constantly sticking you with overdraft fees after they refuse to add cash or a check to the account after a week but always removing funds immediately

If you're so certain it's Wells Fargo collections, explain why there are people getting these calls that have never had an account with Well Fargo.
