I don't know what you mean by "writeoff they receive will pick up the loss". If they are not processing your claim they are not writing anything off.  But even if they did, and I am thinking you mean a tax write off, they would only get credit for the percentage of taxes owed on that money, which I believe is somewhere around 21% now, so that is all they would get out of it.

They (caller ID states Wells Fargo) are calling my work number, which is not listed on my account. I do not have anything going on with them so I'm not sure why they call every day. I answer and it's silent and then they hang up so I can't find out what the calls are regarding.

actually it 5 years and fyi  somebody at Wells Fargo entered the wrong phone number and they were harassing me when I never had an account with their Bank so not everybody is ignoring the phone calls they get tired of dealing with idiots who don't want to listen

Suggestion - drop in to a Wells Fargo bank & speak to their  customer service rep.  Hopefully he/she can solve the problem (unless it is a crook spoofing the number).

When I was responsible pay on the over draft they automatically closed the account.  Receiving ongoing  calls while I'm working is exhausting.  All they want is to place customers in good standing with negative outburst because they did not verify a check that was printed out in my name from scammer.  Just so they would collect finders fee or kick back fee.  Wells Fargo are the worst scammers not protecting their customers giving bad credit for good standing customers thst go bad from their negative statements.

This started when I got a new phone number. Think I'll see about getting the number changed.

They may act legit by calling all day... But whenever I call them back, they refuse to answer.
Wells Fargo is a House of Cards with well known  Illegitimate practices!!! I’ve never taken out a loan with them, NOR do I have any overdrafts!!!
Maybe it’s another one of their scams to to generate illegal funds?!?!?

Just got a Call from this number as well today and them called my MOTHER too. She started to freak out!! They stated I had an overdraft fee from 2008 and I will going to be delivered a Summons this Wednesday on 1-30. When I asked where they were delivering it...they said they couldn't give me an address!!! Ha Ha Ha....Funny Scammers!!!

Well Fargo overdraft dept or an agency that works on their behalf. They’re very unprofessional don’t leave a message or I’m out on hold when I answer, I usually have go say hello multiple times before I get a message saying “ please hold” after about 5 secs, I usually hang up. I think they had an out of country agency to handle overdraft payments.

Wells Fargo Collections call; they call my home phone # several times each week. I closed my account with these SOB's over a year ago and they agreed to a settlement with a debt relief company, yet they persist in calling me trying to recover the balance of my debt. This is the most incompetent, greediest financial organization I've ever dealt with. Thanks for reminding me why I closed my Wells Fargo checking account, bozos!!
