Scam.  Reported to both local law enforcement and FBI.

Two inmate phone calls were charged to my debit card from this# at GTL. Hopefully the autorities will identify which inmate made the call and find his accomplice.

Me too; bank refunded it, but I do not know how they got my debit card number; either an inside job or someone from a legit vendor sharing my card#. Card destroyed, new one issued.

I got charged too... this number was listed on the credit car statement 877-650-4249 AL, so guessing that was some prison in Alabama. Who knows how they got the credit card. I haven't used it in 2-3 yrs... I used it one day at Sears and threw it in my jewelry box since then. I called and they cancelled the charge right away. I guess of the hacks I've had this one probably is the most interesting.

I received calls from a number that appeared to be the local detention center and actually gave the name of the facility. (803-716-8205) The name of the person supposedly calling was very garbled.  I opted out but later got a call from 1-800-483-8314 claiming that my initial call from a "local facility" was able to complete.  It asked for me to press various numbers to accept the charges, talk to an operator, etc.  I just hung up

I got charged 25.00 on my credit card for this number !!! ???

Since you marked this as "valid" I fail to see why you are complaining.

The phone number is GTL,a phone company for a prison.I tried to except a collect call from a family member and used my bank card,my bank card got declined,total of 5 times.GTL charge my card 5 times plus 3 times on my credit card.I look at my bank statement,then I check my credit card to.I did not know if you got declined that they can still take money out,to me that is stealing.I am getting it corrected.Beware GTL can steal from you and walk.Another person would steal they go to jail.Please sit down and explain it to me?Pleas check your statement.GTL is no good.Worst Company Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM !!!! they steal your Credit Card number and then randomly put an amount on your credit card hoping you will Not notice the charge. DO NOT call the 877 number, this company is terrible. CALL your credit card to tell them of the FRAUD .

I haven't received any calls from this number but I just got a lot of charges on my debit card for it.

My credit card was charged fraud and the number for these charges is the number you people have complained about calling you. I don’t know how the hell my credit card 💳 got charged and I didn’t get calls. I know nobody in prison or nobody I know has ever been arrested so this is a scam and completely crazy. I’m sick of credit card fraud and scam phone calls
