- So you are replies to Cootielusaying that you had nothing better to do but to look up the number of a company that you knew the naem of and knew they were "legit"?
- AuRyan06 replies to Sandy63Same here.
- JoyceS replies to Sandy63I too just made a new vehicle purchase and received this same call. She pressed me to verify my information over the phone. After a few minutes I finally told her I would not be giving her any more information-especially the last 4 of my ss#. She was very pushy and tried to continue. I have an Ally account already and can add the new vehicle but this does make me feel better that this was a legitimate call. Not smart to do this with all the fraud out there.
- Julie replies to Jwell, I just had the same experience. We bought our car 6 months ago. I really thought it was a scam when the lady was obviously not a native English speaker and she was asking for my SS#. I told her I was worried she was a scammer since she should have had the acct info if she was indeed calling from Ally. I politely told her to remove me from her call list and blocked the call. I then called Ally directly to ask if that number belonged to them and the person said they had no record of that 877#. I said i was concerned they were being scammed and asked to speak with a manager. While on hold, I decided to google and saw this. Sounds like this might be legit but either way, a good warning to never give personal info to someone who calls you. Always call back.
- JD replies to SandraNo....I got a call from this number today. Called it back and was Ally. They also had all the info of my car and other stuff. This number is good.

- Evie replies to Evie-Also They Verified my Car Payment / Car Make and Model and e-mail address. This is the real deal. They also gave me the 888-925-2559 number to call in case I had any questions.
- AmyJoReceived a call from them today, returned the call, and the lady confirmed it was "Ally Bank" and wanted my social security number too.....sounded like a foreigner and told her I don't give out personal information over the phone, and will wait for my paperwork to arrive (i also bought a vehicle last week) before calling back.
- Caller: Ally Bank
- Bea replies to Sandy63I just received the same call, the guy did not speak english well and wanted to verify information so they can set up the account, he was not friendly and very pushy, so i just hung up on him, they have all information on the paperwork and i already have an account with them, so why have some non speaking dude call me and try to get my ssn and other personal information?
- Billthediver replies to Jjust bought a vehicle on the 18th of March. They called, left no message. looked up the number and found this page so I decided to call. of course the operator had an Indian accent. I told her I was unhappy that they would call several times and not identify themselves. I told her that they could be much more professional if they did leave a message or would identify themselves. I explained many people ar most likely ignoring the calls because of all the scams that are occurring such as the IRS is coming to get you and some credit company you never heard of is suing you if you don't send 5 grand.
- aw87this is as others state ally bank. lady i talked to had accent but was very nice and when i refused to tell her my social she was fine with it; helped me setup my account in few minutes.
- Caller: Ally
- GrumpyOneBought a car, paid in full, no financing. This is probably related to a list of new car buyers that goes out there to whomever. Left no message.
- sandy tarpanoffI dont know why they are calling me but stop waking my daughter up an stop call at nigh I go to bed early have to get up at 4;00am for my job fine some thing better to do with you like get an new job dont bother me think before you call people how would you like too get call dont call me no more
- Caller: unknow
- LuckyThey keep calling me daily. Ive answered twice. Once, the line was silent. The second time the 3 second music sound clip just kept looping over and over.
- TimI have not answered but they have called my cell phone about 6 times in the last week. Some older posts here suggest it's Ally bank confirming account info but the thing is, I do not have, nor have I ever had an account of any type with them. The never leave voice mail. I would expect any legitimate call from an organization I have business with to leave a message with contact information if there was a legitimate reason to get in touch.
Sounds like a scam to me. - Polly LushPlease stop calling. I work and unable to take calls!!
- AnonymousThis is Ally Financial
- Caller: Ally Financial
- Call type: Debt collector
- TS replies to JJust received a call from 877-669-5107...a woman with a very broken English accent asked me for either my account number, VIN number, or my full social. There was loud clicking on the line and she was very hard to understand. I said I would get back to her later. Everything about the call had a very fishy vibe to it. Not very professional at all.
