- EG replies to anonymousIt is indeed Chase Bank's Fraud Dept. Opened a new account at Chase with a check from my previous bank - because it was a large sum, Chase wanted to release the funds to me ASAP, so they wanted to verify me with my previous bank. Chase called me, conferenced in my previous bank, and my funds were immediately released.
- Dennis replies to Billy| 1 replyYes, I am in Mexico using the credit card ending in 9853 for electrical repairs. For some reason I cannot call the 800 numbers for loss prevention. Could someone from lost prevention call me re the changes art [removed]. Thank you
- BigA replies to DennisWell you will certainly get calls now that you have posted your phone number in an open forum, they just will not be from Chase about your credit card. This is a site to report scam calls, why you seem to think that this is Chase bank's secure site is beyond me, although part of the explanation might be that you replied to a 6 year old message.
- TheSsm| 1 replyIt is legit.
To some people asking why people would post its legit, when this page is to report scams, the answer is simple. When I got a call from this number, I got scared. I didn't have to give out personal information like my SSN or password but had to answer a set of autogenerated ridiculous set of questions which I found quite funny. And then the person went on to check a transaction that I scheduled today. There is no way anyone else would have known that. Why I am writing here is because, i came to this website to find out if I was fooled. And after reading this I believe it was legit and I am writing a comment just to counter the person saying that people come here only to report scams which isn't true.- Caller: CHASE
- Unfortunately.. replies to TheSsm..you don't seem to understand that scammers also "spoof" real numbers - so it looks like they're calling from Chase or whoever. That's why it's always best to call back and just call the number on the back of your card.
- KZThis is a legitimate Chase Bank fraud department call to verify information in connection with an online wire transfer.
- Caller: JP Morgan Chase
- PamI got an "urgent" call from this number. I would never give them any information without verifying that they are indeed calling from Chase. When I called the number on the back of my debit card, Chase said they had no alerts at all on either of my accounts.
- Caller: Supposedly Chase

- AConcernCustomer| 1 replyThe number is for the electronic money transfer department. Its a department that verifies any kind of money transfer electronically...i.e. chase quickpay.
- Andy replies to AConcernCustomerI got a call from this number in a voicemail asking me to call back. I then tried logging into chase.com, but it said my account was locked, and gave a phone number to call. The phone number matched the voicemail, so this is indeed a good chase number. However, note that when you call back, there's lots of information that Chase asks for, including debit card number, pin, debit card security code. They locked my account because I made a transfer. After my return call, my account is now unlocked and doing fine.
- atlantisnetIt is Chase's Fraud Hotline. They called to verify a wire I was sending.
- Caller: Chase
- CDThis is in fact chase. I called the # on the back of my card and confirmed with the representative that it is the fraud prevention department.
- Caller: Chase
- Mr.PCI believe this is a genuine number. I got locked out of my account on line while they checked a wire transfer request, and this is the number that popped up on Chase's web site as the one to call to unlock. Furthermore, when I called the number, the person on the other end knew things about the transaction I had requested that I had not given him orally - that only someone with access to my Chase on line account could know (namely, the recipient).I'll get back to you if my account gets cleaned out.

- Paul| 1 replyI'm on the phone with JP Morgan Chase and this is NOT their number. It belongs to Ace Business Solutions...caution!
- Robert replies to PaulInteresting that you say this is fraud. I got a call from the 877 691 8086. Checked online and saw these posts so I called the Chase number for my business acccount and they said it was a direct line to there operations center.
- DaFox| 1 replyWhether the number is legit call from Chase or not is moot.
Criminals can and do spoof the caller ID of their scam calls in order to trick people into thinking it is legit.
If you get a call from ANYONE claiming ANYTHING that has to do with your personal or financial information, STOP!
Get as much info from them without providing any of your info to them and hang up.
Then call the company in question using the phone number on the back or your card, billing statements, or via the company's website or directory assistance.
Then you can find out if the call was legit or not. - Robert replies to DaFoxWell said
- PaulCalled today twice , left voice mail for another party requesting an immediate call back, because of suspicious activity on the account. I called back and told them I had no chase accounts , being I could not understand the parties name they were calling for. I verified my phone number, which they had anyway, the rep thank me and that was it. I will leave it up to the Chase customers to determine the validity.

- AndrewIt does appear to be a genuine Chase number, but why do they ask for your debit card PIN, expiry date and security code - that which would be of most use to a scammer and something Chase themselves tell you to NEVER give out over the phone. I wouldn't give any of that over the phone, even if it was being keyed into an automated 'system', and had to go to the branch to sort it out. You'd have to be nuts to give that kind of information to some [***] Indian calling from a number you don't recognise. They seriously need to get their [***] together.
- Caller: JPMorgan Chase
- AlexThis is NOT a genuine Chase number. They asked for my card number (which was suspicious) and told me I had a fraud alert on my account. I hung up and called Chase directly. I have three accounts with them. None of them had fraud alerts associated with them. Chase told me they will never ask for my card number since they already have it (and auto-recognize phone numbers). I called the 877 number back and asked them to verify that they are a real Chase number. The woman stuttered and told me to call the number on the back of my card. I said, "Isn't there any way you can prove to me that you're actually a Chase division?" She simply repeated that I should call the number on my card. It's a total scam. Don't give them any information. If you get a call from this "Chase" number, I would recommend calling the number on your card or account instead of this one. You'll avoid a big hassle that way!
