They did but I read this blog and thought it was all bogus. It's not folks. I found out the hard way. The attorney's phone# is 949-660-9700. If you call them they will tell you the represent GLRecovery on credit card lawsuits. It put this out there cause my credit is now ruined with a judgement cause I thought this was bogus. Hopefully this will help someone that is dealing with these people, they do sue.

    NOT "Anonymous"
    Dear Anonymous,

You pompous, self-righteous piece of garbage.  Did you not read the posts in this blog?  Do you not see that most of these people (including me) are being harassed by these people illegally?  In my case, I'm being called in pursuit of a neighbor, who I assure you is not in delinquency.  I'm not the only neighbor being called in this matter.  You consider this appropriate?  You think it's appropriate to threaten ME when they are in fact in search of someone else -regardless of whether it's a neighbor, a friend, or a relation?

You are a real piece of work.  Get out from behind the shadows and show yourself if you think this is such a "noble" point of view.

    Signed,
    NOT Anonymous.

Someone named Adrian called my work looking for my mother who they said had debt. My mother has Alzheimers and has not been able to do the simplest type of transaction for years. He was rude and offensive and became more-so when I asked questions regarding who he was and the legalities of what he was doing. He finally just hung up on me. I did a search and found this blog. This type of behavior should not be legal nor allowed.

GLR Group been calling and asking for information about my adult son who has not lived with me for over ten years (and never at my current address). I have not been involved in his financial affairs although I may have been listed as next of kin on credit applications or insurance policies.  They claim that they "are not a collection agency" and have something for him.  Disregarding their sleazy tactics, they have no business harassing me just because I have the same last name.

I have been receiving these calls on my phone at home and work.  GLR group they say.  I have delt with all kinds of people... from threatening to cursing to polite. I keep blowing them off thinking that they are probably a fraud but I don’t know what is real any more.  If this credit card wrote off my dept it is assumed on my part that they got paid as it is a tax write off for them.  This card was opened in 2002 and last payment (they say) was made in 2005. Can they really garnish wages?  This is just a scam, correct?  How do I know what is legitimate or not?

    interested
I am interested in how they get the phone numbers they are calling.  Adrian placed a call today and left it on my son-in-law's cell.  Letting him know that he was trying to get a hold of my son for a very urgent matter and time-senstive.   How can they call numbers and people/relatives not associated at all with the debt?

do not practice law in California, but generally yes, you can be sued and have your wages gaarnished for credir card incurred three years ago. Generally the creditor has up to seven years to try and collect the debt. Assuming that you have no defense other than that you just could not afford to make the payments, the company can get a judgment against you. They will then seek to have it enforced. They can go after your assets, or if you really don't have any assets that you aren't protected by California law, they can garnish your wages. The judge decides how much they can garnish. Generally this is a formula that the court follows and depending on your jurisdiction, it may or may not take into consideration your other debts.

You would probably be better off to tryand work with the credit card company and set up some type of payment plan. That way the attorney fees and the cost of going tocourt are not added on to the amount you owe. Good luck!

A message was left approx. 1pm pacific time by a caller who did not say who he was or who he represented only that he had received a file today that IMPLICATED me in a very serious situation and that he was trying to get involved in the decision making process so I should call as soon as possible.  Sounds more like being involved in some sort of crime.  The only other information was his extension - 114.  I have no intention of calling back, especially based on what I've read in regards to this phone number.

They called and spoke with my dad, claiming to be a Long lost friend that needed my cell phone number.  When he said he wouldn't give out my number the lady (desiree) got very angry and then said that she had important documents which I did not know about yet but need to deal with.  He then sent me an email to tell me she called.  This is the second call they've made and it is getting annoying since I don't even live with my parents and do not want them having to deal with my issues.  While I am working to resolve my debt issues and will communicate with those to resolve the issue, there is no need to harass my family.

A well spoken person called and said he was trying to get documents to my son.  This guy was so polite I almost believed him but I googled the name GLR Group while I was talking to him and saw that it was a collection agency. I got him to give me a partial address, namely 1909 E. Lambert Rd. but did not get the name of the city. That might be findable through Google. He tried to get my other son's contact info.  He denied they were a collection agency and when I called him on it he hung up on me after threatening unspecified action against my son. I previously had a series of calls from a different company but they finally stopped when I managed to get an address and sent them a certified do not call letter, threatening legal action if they did not stop.

What has happened since he hung up on you.  Have you been sued or did they just finally leave you alone.  What was the amount of the debt in you don't mind me asking?

    Thanks
