My mother and x-husband got a phone call stating that their home and property is on the line if I dont contact them. So I did and got the run around that I had a debt with some credit card company, wont give me any details except that I owe them money and if I dont pay they will send it to their lawyer. They wont give me any information about said company I owe, they said no that they cant send me any contract that was signed by me. Said that I open card in 2005 and last paymet was made in 2006. Said that statements were sent to my mothers address, well I get everything else why havent I got any statements from credit card company or from them. How am I suppose to defend myself when I have no idea who or what this is. I have not opened any credit cards since I was devoiced in 1996...The man that I talked to was rude and very mean, he kept telling me that it is my debt and wouldnt listen to anything I had to say, then hung up on me. Write them a certified letter,demand that they validate the debt,which
legely the have to.Also depending on your state theres a statute of limitations where they can sue you,california is 4 years.
Also you can write them a certified letter demanding that they stop calling,and by law the have to cease commuitcation with you. If they contue to harrasse you after you sent them a cerified letter,then you have
grounds to sue them under the fair debt collection act. I just got done suing this debt collecter and won 5000.00 doller.

Man John you are such a scum. Most of us have debt in life and act like grown adults. You sound like your one of those who wants a free ride in life. You say that you won a law suit. Fred called today for me but I was not home I was at work.  "Fred" told my mom that he was calling about some very important information regarding Dee's home at an address that he listed.  My mom explained that I was at work and that she was the homeowner and how could she help him.  He told my mom she was lying and that Dee owned the house and he had vital information regarding the house and how Dee was going to lose the house unless she called him back immediately, within the hour.  My mom is in real estate and knows that her house is not in jeopardy so she ignored him, but his tactics are very, very wrong.  Clearly GLR Group, Collections is not a reputable agency and their tactics include lying and intimidation.  I hope that the government agencies she reported them to will do something about what they are doing.

I ignored calls from them, but a friend told me that if they call you before 8 am i believe they are breaking the RDCPA which protects consumers like us. Also if you dont live in southern california since theyre office is in La Habra they cannot sue you they have to be in your county to seize your bank accounts and be able to garnish you as well.

info girl, they do not have to be in your state to sue you, they can send it to an attny in your state to sue on their behalf, it's one thing to blog your frustrations in this forum but your putting advise out there that people may act on that could lead them to getting sued!

I got a call this afternoon from the GLR Group.  Robert V. left a message looking for my brother, said my name and number was left as a contact number.  First off my brother would never leave my contact information since I haven't spoke with him in 7 years.  I called back and Robert V. was completely beyond rude, wouldn't tell me what the call was about, something about a violation of the law.  HA!  Skip tracing is a violation of the law!  I  informed him that he was never to call my number again, told him to F'off and he was still screaming into the phone when I hung up on him!

I got a call from my sister saying that this "robert' guy that called from the 1-877 number said he was a lawyer. So my sister called me and gave me the number. When I called I got transfered to another man. He told me that I only have one outstanding debt on my credit card. Well I have tried to contact the bank and they said they no long had any infromation. The guy said they sent a letter stating they are going to sue me if I don't make a payment right then and there. I told him that my husband had lost his job, i had lost mine and we really don't have no money. I told him I can make small payments till I get back on my feet and will be able to make larger payments. He told me that he couldn't do that cause he gave me plenty of chances to contact him. I told him that I never got his letters nor heard of this GLR Group he works for. I told him how can I pay or contact you if I never got your letter but he just said he only has to send it one time, weather I get it or not. He was rude and kept saying either I pay or I can just get sued. Not only am I not calling them back...I am not worried about what they say.

I was contacted today by this group regarding my exhusband. He has charged many things on credit cards, finance services and does not pay his bills. Is this fair?  NO, it's like writing checks with no money, if you have a debt, pay it. They have to be rude because people like you do not stick to their statement of faith of payment. You want it for free? Pay your bills!!!!
