That number called and I didn't answer.

Yep got a call from 877-766-7696.  Have no idea what it is?

No it's not TD Canada Trust.  It is a scam.  I called back the number and asked if this is really TD Bank.  The rude woman said "I can't tell you that until you give me the reference number" (that's the number they left on the voice mail).  Hopefully no one calls this number.  Call the real TD Bank if you have any doubts.

TD fraud department claims via email it is their line:

I am pleased to confirm that the phone calls you have been receiving are legitimate.  The telephone number 1-877-766-7696 belongs to our Account Recovery Group.

877-766-7696! More jerks calling my do not call cell phone number! Need to form a vigilante committee and get rid of this scum as the law won't do a thing to them no matter how much you complain

I have received more than 20 calls from some [***] who claims she is TD Canada Trust.

I have asked not to be called again but she keeps calling and tonight, I could hear a guy laughing in the background. I asked her who that was but she claims she did not know what I was saying.

She was rude and insistent and would not stop her rubbish. Finally, I out-yelled her and she finally hung up.

I had asked for her name and employee ID. She claimed her name was ilham and her TD Employee ID was ColilhaBD.

Can someone please report this to the police? I am getting to angry and frustrated. Even when I hand up and disconnect the call, they call right back and leave a message or keep calling back all day and all evening long

Please someone do something about this [***], witch and scum of a human being who is seeking to scam people!!!!!

This is TD Canada Trust accounts recovery department. If you forget to pay your Visa/line of credit/loan/overdrafts, we call you and let you know that these accounts are in our department and are delinquent.  In 30 days, if these accounts are not payed, they will end up in a collection department and could affect your credit rating.  If you do get a call, from this # you are delinquent in a payment.

If you don't like the calls, pay your bill!  DEADBEAT!

I called TD direct line. They said there is nothing wrong with my accounts at all and their supervisor checked it as well and said no problem with my account. It appears callers may be sales guys selling new credit cards etc. or their associated companies offering other products.

I keep getting this number on my call display, I looked it up on the internet. So I called TD Canada Trust. They said there is nothing wrong or owing on my TD account and my VISA is fine.

Wow, you just keep calling!!!  Again I phoned TD Canada Trust EasyLine- NO problems with my account or VISA - nothing in collections etc... etc... AND he said that 877-766-7696 does not match any TD Canada Trust phone numbers. Go Figure!!! SCAM, shame on you.

No its not - you're some sort of collections agency buying up bogus numbers & written off debts. I advise anyone being called by you to call the TD bank first and find out the status of their accounts. If you do have a debt problem work it out with the bank not the scam agency! And Good Luck getting them to stop calling.

If you have any concerns about this # call VISA, not your branch.  they will not know this department.  OR have branch call us at this #.

NOT A SCAM!!

I have been harrassed by TD Canada Trust for 4 years.  Now I'm being hounded by this number.  I'm not even the person they're looking for, and for 4 years I've been trying to get them to stop calling me.  

Today I called the 1-877-766-7696 number back and asked to speak to a Manager.  I was flat out refused.  I have never been treated so appallingly in my life.  

Margaret Gouveia is the woman I had to deal with and was so far beyond rude that I ended up shouting to be heard over her.  She basically told me unless I want to keep being harrassed she suggest I call TD Bank myself since I'm not even a customer.  

This is the most shocking case of harrasement.  I get calls at 7am through to 9pm, often before and after those hours, and many times waking my baby up.

You're a disgusting excuse for customer service and how dare you treat human beings with such little regard for their privacy.

Your a pathetic exuse for a human being.

Its td canada trust all the employees are with td if you don't want to be called pay your bills!!! Don't complain wait complain all you want about it being a scam its just your credit that's on the line not theirs

Look. I am just another person adding to this long list and you do not know me...but this truly IS FRAUD. I just called TD and they did not recognize this number. If you are contacted by TD you should be allowed to enter your pin instead of responding with personal information. It is a choice you have the right to. They contacted YOU (you are already at risk), therefore they also need to be able to prove their legitimicy. TD Canada Trust has specific guidelines they need to follow for customer service. I have been with them for almost two decades. The people at this number are not only rude but they also do not follow the TD customer service model. Even their phone system is bogus in it's structure! They are most definitely not a part of TD. Anyone above who says they are are most definitely involved and are searching out forums such as these in order to make themselves seem legit. Again. This IS FRAUD. If TD has a serious issue with you, than they will contact you, you will be able to enter your pin OR have the option to contact them by using the number on the back of your card if you need further verification. I tried this when they phoned me and they conviently did not have the pin service. When I asked for a reference number they told me they would not give another until I gave them information first to verify it was me. YEAH right!

P.S. MY Visa Account is not only fine but I make my monthly payments and I am elligible for an increase because of my good activity. TRUST me. DO NOT BELIEVE THE [***] ABOVE ABOUT BAD CREDIT! The scum bags above will get it in the end...kharma is truly sweet.
