sadly you will only know it isn't a scam if you check your credit report it takes a while especially when you are a go-wireless/diamond wireless customer because they don't have internal collections, but it probably will be reported and you will only notice it when you loan application fails or you have to pay ridiculous rate on that loan.

I actually hope that this has been reported to your credit. so rude and idiotic. just because you are so dumb that you will sign anything someone puts in front of you doesn't make it less valid. oh yeah cheap recycled paper what do you think you deserve something like virgin card stock.

well i hope (and knowing Jim you probably are already on the list to be reported) you have been reported and that the next time you go to get a loan the loan officer advises you about this. the easiest collections are people who try to get a loan and get denied because of a refusal to pay mark on their credit history.

we probably wont call you but that doesn't mean we wont report it to the credit  bureau.

You sure like that "credit report" threat. False credit reports have nasty repercussions to the fraudulent entities who make them. Good luck with that. But you don't care. Your little outfit can't lose much in a lawsuit. But that judgement will follow your little bottom feeding band of thieves around for as long as someone keeps it current. Enjoy your minimum wage job while you still have it! It can't be easy for a moron like yourself to find work. Even as a low-life, smoke blowing fraud!

Our son-n-law received a message from a Katie from Aldous and Associates for my husband, Charles Wasnich.  When I called them the next evening after hearing the message the person on the other end, Jim, would not discuss anything with me because this was "case" was not against me. I faxed POA papers and called back being told that it takes 2 days to process the POA.  Today when I got the mail, there was a letter in there from the same "attorneys" office stating that my husband broke a contract with 2 B Mobile and owes $300.  We had been with Alltel until they were bought out by Verizon and are currently with Verizon and are bill is CURRENT!  Matter of fact, my husband just got a new phone and resigned a 2 yr contract with Verizon yesterday (9-15-1)   All I know is that, 1st... we have NEVER had a contract with 2 B Mobile EVER and 2nd... If that person thinks that they have reached an idiot then the joke is on them!!  They will NEVER get a penny out of us plus they will be reported to every agency I know to report him to!! PLEASE DO NOT fall for this SCAM!!!

Not legitimate - refusing to send proof of debt (eg, a contract SIGNED by the consumer) means that per the FDCPA, the consumer owes them NOTHING.

You must work for the scammers.  No proof of debt mailed to consumer - per the FDCPA - nothing owed!

Lots of companies are registered with BBB - including companies who regularly and flagrantly violate the FDCPA.

I am writing to let everyone know that I am recanting my "scam" story I posted the other day. I urge anyone that has received a letter from Aldous & Associates to call their local 2 B Mobile, Diamond Wireless or Go Wireless!! If by chance you bought anything that would have been on a contract through Verizon you also signed a contract with the "authorized dealer", one of the 3 listed above, to have your device active for 180 days. I posted a few days ago this was a scam but thought I would just call our local "authorized dealer" here in Wauseon to tell them there was a scam going around using their name. Well much to my surprise it was a real debt, sort of. My son-in-law bought my daughter the iPhone 5 from 2 B Mobile and when his number deactivated off of our account before the 180 days expired they charged him the $300 deactivation fee. However, since my daughter has the iPhone and her number is still active we won't have to pay the charge due to a Verizon error. Anyhow, I urge you to check into the validity of any letter you may have gotten!! I am glad that I was persistent enough because I saved my husband's credit!!

Nope, not buying your story.  Too many people have gotten the same calls and checked it out and per their cell phone company, owe NOTHING.  Nice try, though.

I get paid 17$ an hour to put up with belligerent people like you all day. you can think its fraudulent all you want but your irresponsible attitude is what pays my bills. Do you think it is easy to talk to the most irresponsible people of the country all day every day (exception to go wireless or diamond wireless customers because they don't have internal collections i do feel bad for you guys kinda get a call out of the clear blue sky that would suck)

by the way almost all of us are current students in college so yeah the responsible people in society are working here.

What do you want, a pat on the back or something?  You have a job, WOW! Welcome to the adult world most of us live in.

If you are a college student you best spend some more time on composition and argumentation, because your posting contradicts itself.

Finally, you clearly have not comprehend all of the posts in this thread, or failing that you have made several attribution errors.  Most of the regulars here "have jobs" and don't dodge debts.  The simply find it unacceptable that trolls and shills try to interfere with the disscussions of unknown callers.

thank you for returning and telling them your story. see sometimes  they will send us accounts that are mistakes just like they said and if yours is a mistake it can be fixed. (although i would suggest talking to the store first like this lady did) were not super helpful when it comes to the accounts that are incorrect but all of the companies can call us or send an email and have the collections cancelled (although i would still try to get something in writing even if they do say they will take care of it)

if you ask for it in writing they will mail it to you (and add 10$ in fees for our time if the legal contract permits) or email it to you for free (because it is much easier and less time consuming)!! but the FDCPA requires us to send notifications at the written request of a debtor it does not say it cant have a fee associated with it.

it even says that you only need to provide the name and address of the original creditor

its called real research do it.

if you read the letters we send out it has all the required information on it

your welcome!  We worked everything out with the local 2 B Mobile in our area, since there was a misunderstanding on all of our parts, and an email was sent to Aldous and Associates to remove us from their collection list.  Since, we have not received any calls from you guys!  It may take some time and looking into but I encourage ANYONE that has received a letter or phone call from this legal firm to take the time to figure it out because it is REAL and can potentially hurt your credit!!

Tell them you to NOT owe the debt  and not to call you or you will consider this harassment. Send it certified mail with return reciept requedted and keep a copy of the original. Uf they call you agsin then report them to FTC and law enforcement gor harrassing phone calls. If they threaten you with 7 years on your credit and you truly do not owe. Then tell them you will see them in court.
