no more retail kiosks for me replies to collector
This is more of a comment on Diamond Wireless than you but you should understand why people are frustrated.
I have a pretty good IQ, a doctorate degree, own a few businesses employing 20+ people, and make good money. I'm a pretty responsible person but I have to say that there are things in fine print that I read and other things I don't pay attention to as much like most people. That's just life. There are some things you look at very carefully, like a prenup, a will, life insurance, etc.

And there are other things, like a cell phone activation, where you just hear out everything the sales rep has to say and try to just make a good decision based on pricing and your needs. But if there's something to the product that you're selling that's very "out of the ordinary", like a cell phone plan that has two separate fees for the same thing, you really should make sure the consumer is positively aware of that fact.

That way they don't feel duped. When my employees sell certain products and there are no refunds or exchanges for that particular product, they make sure the customer understands. Both by verbal confirmation and on paper.

In this case, the aggravating factor is not only that the consumer faces two early termination charges, the retailer (Diamond Wireless) actually charges ($400) a lot more than Verizon, the actual carrier (<$200). I'm not saying have a bleeding heart for everyone that posts here. But you should know that your company basically works with some companies with shady (nondisclosure) policies and understand why people here are frustrated.

    Slim
I received a letter in the mail from Aldous & Associates last week stating my gym membership was pass due $60. I immediately called my gym & they confirmed I'm current, never been pass due on my payments since I've been with them & too disregard the letter it was an error. Right after that I called Aldous & associates told the guy what my gym told me & he advised to have them call in to remove my name from collections.
So today I get a missed call today from Aldous & Associates. I called them after I got off from work & on my way to the gym. I get a guy by the name of Rick on the phone. He says his disclosures & asked me if I was calling to settle the debt. I began to tell him that this was a dispute & I did talk to a rep last week from their office as well as a rep from my gym & I was actually headed to the gym right now. Our convo went like this
Rick: actually mam you're not on your way to the gym.
    Me: excuse me?
    Rick: yes excuse you
Me: you don't need to talk to me that way
Rick: yes mam I do, you owe this debt & need to pay
Me: no you don't need to talk to me that way. Let me speak to your supervisor
    Rick: I am the supervisor
Me: no you're not, let talk to your supervisor
Rick: mam I am my own supervisor
Me: then let me talk to someone above you
Rick: no there's not, no one above me wants to talk to you.

From there I told him that they do not have permission to call my cell phone anymore & hung up.
I have never ever been treated this was nor have I treated a customer this way. I actually work in collections & I know damn well this was no super rio & definitely not the way to handle someone's account.
I called back & got a really nice guy by the name of Steve. He let me explain the situation & was understanding. If rick ever calls me again it will be hell.

Your responses to the masses here are amusing.  IF "Jim" is the first in line to receive inbound calls, THEN you MUST be Jim since you seem to know Aldous & Associates' collection mode operandi- that's Latin speak for your Circus Operation.  Also, your proverbial scare tactic reply: "If you don't pay us, we will report your debt to a credit agency which will adversely affect your chances of qualifying for a loan the next time you try to obtain credit"  is moronic.   I see these collection form letters targeting senior citizens, and my advice to the senior citizens is to throw the letter in the trash; burden of proof is on the party demanding the payment.  In case of insufficient proof (i.e., signature on a contract), then the claim is DENIED in any legal forum,

Aldous & Associates is a collections agency for Diamond Wireless and I am sick of both of them!!
Don't be fooled this is a real company.
My daughter bought a phone and put the number on my Verizon account.
I terminated the phone number and now I received a $400 bill.

I don't see how they can have you pay for something you did not sign for.  You didn't sign a contract with Diamond Wireless did you?  I would contact the BBB and also your state Attorney General!

Oh my God - go to the mailbox and what do I see another letter from Aldous and Associates
I am not really surprised but then again I am.
I sent these fools three (3) certified letters telling them to cease and desist.
I think these guys must be stupid. $400 for a cancelled phone because It was not left on for 185 days etc etc
Or $520 if not paid right away. Please
It was not a contract signed by me. Diamond Wireless superimposed my daughter's signature on a contract and expects me to pay?
Aldous and Associates can kiss my ass. I tore up their stupid letter and erased their stupid "important business matter" message

They appear to be an attorney firm but their contact people seem to be unprofessional based on what I've read.

I can find no attorney by that name listed in the Utah Bar..  In addition, the BBB indicates that he is the owner of two other businesses, one is a Health Food/Nutritional Supplement business:  http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/heal ... ndy-ut-22310619
The other is an auto dealer:  http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/auto ... ovo-ut-18001130
Bizapedia lists an address on the aldous page and this is what comes up:  http://www.bizapedia.com/addresses/4262-IMPERIAL-WAY-PROVO-UT-84604.html

So I would have to question the attorney statement unless there are unnamed attorneys in this organization.

I would add to this by way of even if there is a attorney involved, they have to be licensed to collect debt same as a debt collection agency and also need licenses to collect in each state.

    Harassed Party.
I would.like to add to last post by the respected attorney. I do not proof read long posts from cell phone so read between the lines when needed. Punks left message looking for a guy. Not my name. I called back. Politely to inform them the dead beat they wanted had recently switched cell numbers because this fool owed to all types of people. I was getting calls from Budweiser and other food oriented vendors all over the Florida Georgia pan handle. First thing out of this low wage lack of college yahoo was scripted. What is your name. But I was also scripted at the begining of my call. Hi how are you doing today? Do you have a pen handy? I said. He paused and then I heard the keyboard in the background and he replied I have a computer. Then I told him they called looking for such and such and I was not such and such. Think he is gonna used canned crap on me to get my personal info on my unlisted cell. No way. All I knew was I had a voice mail from a person. Claiming to be in a law firm. I was not allowed to do any due diligence on my part looking into them. So I just said um all hastily to see what was gonna come next from the script. It was the bad cop script... this is a law firm attempting to collect...I cut this scab off with... we can play this game and hung up. Then called my carrier. Verizon. I have used them for over fifteen years have had multi state businesses plural and private lines with them. I have spent tens of thousands with them over the years. All I had to say was...harassing call. They said I am looking at your accounts would you like us to block the number. I said please do. Then tonight I googled the number, went to their site. Looks cheap and generic. Then scrolled to this read all the posts. I am telling you if they are legit then they are legit. What they did to me was illegal. They broke the law they attempted to intimadate me by yelling over my calm voice...they were going to keep calling until the debt is paid. Its recorded on their end. They are in an actionable position with my interaction. Reading these posts I would say to all of you call Fox and CNN and MSNBC. Give them access to your records and let the media dissect these illegal lawyers. Verizon is going to get fed up and dump them soon enough. This is a class action case. For the twerp that referenced the legal site at a university with an .edu suffix I will inform that clown that it is illegal to simply raise your voice in a treating manner at any point in time in the U.S.A. under Federal Statute's. It is considered harassment at the least and you can file psychological harassment suit. Just go to any lawyer and ask about getting a Dr. to help prove anxiety due to the harassment. Call from Dr.s office and let them take your blood pressure before and after the call you make to them in a polite time of voice trying to resolve the issue. These guys all act like jerks so you'll get angry. Then you have medical records your lawyer can use to file for damages. It has been done I the past just like this.

    Again, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL
They called from 801-272-5281, left a message to call them back at 1-888-221-5155. They were attempting to collect a debt for a Jonas Reynolds.....
They called an elderly woman's phone instead. Wrong number.
I called to tell them they had the wrong number, this was not Jonas Reynolds' phone number, it was Margie's and they had the wrong number. I said they needed to remove the number from their system and not call back again.
They asked, "So, this is not Jonas Reynolds' contact phone?" Blah, blah, they were from some attorney's office......
I said, emphatically, "NO! I just told you that! No Jonas as this number. You need to remove this number from your list or I will come after you for harassment."
They.."Well! You don't have to be rude! If you are NOT rude, I will remove the number. Otherwise, you will have to send it to use in writing to remove it. Verbally asking us will not work. SO, are you going to NOT be rude?"
I just laughed, and said to remove the number.

Same story as everyone above. Was told I owe 400$. I said I already paid Verizon for canceling. Was told i signed an agreement to stay for 185 days. I didn't so I now owe diamond wireless 400$ I told them I would look into it before paying. Funny thing, Verizon just sent me a refund check for over paying. What should I do? Also we need a way to get the word out to everyone to stop signing up for Verizon until they fix this.
