got my home phone 12 hours ago.  my number is unlisted.  got two calls from this number about 1.5hrs apart.  verizon promised i wouldn't be getting this type of stuff.

Most likely you setup you vm so you can screen calls. The actual callers # shows up for a few rings then the 8882346786 # shows up right after so you can answer the phone and listen to the message the caller is leaving.

Keep getting calls indicating that Jenna and Kenny have a VM, but they don't own this number anymore

It is the number you call for Verizon Voicemail.  Ever since I got this number I have been receiving annoying automated calls from the Verizon voicemail. The worst is the wake up call that I did not set up that starts at 6 and rings every 15 minutes for an hour, every week day.  I followed the directions to clear Voicemail.  No luck.  I tried to work with Verizon to get it to stop.  They kept calling me back telling me the problem was fixed.  Never was.  I finally blocked the number.  In my call screening, I see that the number continues to call.  This is almost a year later.

You are talking about two different numbers entirely. The one you have posted on here is not a scam at all. I'm sure you are familiar with Verizon.

This number is for a mailbox service...it's completely useless

I received 3 calls today.  Really want to stop it.

Received the call, answered to find no one there.  Called the numbre back and found it is the number you would call to access Verizon voice mail.  I called Verizon customer service who couldn't give a reason why this number would be calling me so transferred me to their technical people.  Tech support said it could be a reminder call if I had set up some kind of reminder service which I had not.  I've only had my number since last Friday and today is Monday!  The only thing I did set up is my voice mail.  Tech support is referring the matter to their voice mail department for further investigation.  I did tell tech support that this seems to be a wide spread problem given the number of postings here.
