This # showed up on my cell phones caller ID and when I answered it was my friend calling. We don't know why this # came up instead of her actual phone #.  Then when I tried to call it back I got the voicemail message. Weird!

If you have Verizon telephone service call 800-VERIZON and explain the problem, such as the person that gets calls every 15 minutes every morning.  it sounds like someone set a wakeup  alarm on his phone.  They will bend over backwards to help you solve the problem.  On rare occasions, it could be something you did yourself inadvertently.  I had a problem with calls on my iphone going directly to voice mail and not ringing on the cell phone.  It turns out, I had tapped on the quarter moon icon when I pulled down the home screen in error.  That send all my calls  directly to voice mail.  The Verizon rep knew exactly what happened.  Told me to tap on it again.  Problem solved.  No more voice mails.

    Annoyed
Received a call today (a tad after 11:30 am) and since I don't recognize the number and have been getting several "scammer" calls, I ignored it.  Was surprised that I had a "message" afterwards but when I listened to it, it simply was static for almost a minute.  The interesting thing is, I received several of these calls and unsure if it's because I use Republic (cellphone) and/or because I switched the number over from Verizon whom I had for 7 years?  Curious if others who are getting these calls are STILL on Verizon.  I need to check with the 2 of 3 kids that also have Republic with me --one I had switched from VZ too while the other was a new account because now I could save each month and add another line.  I will check if the 1 who stayed on VZ on her own is receiving obnoxious calls.

I just received another call from this number. When I called back, the recording was from the Social Security Office, stating they had no new information about what President Obama said. CRAZY!!

Repeated calls 15 minutes apart with unintelligible one-word message. Three calls, 15 minutes apart. I took my phone off the hook. i don't have Verizon services…but I have been getting harassing calls from Verizon cell number 917-628-0925. I also received an unwanted text-to-landline message that I did not retrieve. I wonder if these calls have anything to do with that situation. My landline is going away soon. Cell phone has unlimited call blocking ability.

There was just another call so this time I answered it. It was a voice recording of my mom's friend singing on the answer service. When the message was over the system said good bye. I use a cell my mom at another number has a regular phone with an answering service. I'm confused how it called my phone at another address.

wrong no vm set up with verizon; this is a manipulation of some sort, this number showed on normal incoming call from party in nyc relative. we have repeat phone problems and internet hacking going on current. likely man in middle by commandeering the part of verizon messages system to snoop info and forward calls thru third number to attack data.

exactly. no vm set up on my phone. this showed for normal call from mother in nyc, someone is rerouting calls thru verizon coding for spying.

aha. your clue is forwarding involved. forwarding is a hacking method to screen someone's calls thru a third number. i have verizon, but no vm message set up, and mothers normal incoming call showed this bogus number. this very well could be man in middle attack forwarding incoming calls via programming to relay thru third number for person to monitor. hacking same weeks on computer, have good idea who the offending party is, a computer expert.

Called our cell phone 02/17/16, 5 PM. Left no message. Internet reviews advise there is some connection with this number and Verizon. When you try to call back, our phone refers us to our voice mail but there is no message.

When I saw this number and "Verizon VM" on my caller ID, I let it go to my answering machine, and it was my sister!  It turns out she was checking the Verizon voice mail on her end and pressed the option to "return call" when she'd heard that I had called her earlier.  In my case, there was no scam.

I got a call from a woman claiming that she was with a collection agency. She said I took out a short term loan 3 years ago and her client keeps trying to get the funds back but my bank account is insufficient. All were lies!

I answered because I got a call on my cell that I ignored.  It quit and my home phone started ringing with what looked like same number and I thought someone was trying to reach me.  Home phone was a friend from Virginia who said she was calling on her home phone.  Her home phone number was not the number that showed up.  Am calling Verizon to ask what is going on.
