- NoMoreCallsSo now the telemarketers are spoofing the Verizon Home Voice Mail number! How do I explain this to the Robo Guy?
- Caller: Spoof of Verizon Voice Mail
- Me| 1 replyThis number called and left a one second voice-mail just saying my name once and I'm low key really scared right now
- Tygerkat replies to MeNo need to be scared. Just don't answer calls from numbers you dont know and block then if you can.
- Me replies to manipulation of carrier to intercept calI had the same experience, called the number - it is Verizon voicemail. I called Verizon and they said the change in caller ID from the caller number to this number is originating on the caller's side. They said to have the caller call Verizon and report. They also said they are aware of this happening but have no control over it. I'm not sure they were fulling understanding the issue, but the takeaway is this - let the caller know that their caller ID is being messed with. In my case it is an 80 year old friend and this was no easy task! It happened, then I called him back and told him to call me to run a test - and it happened that time as well. The next time he called, a couple of hours later, his number showed up correctly. So it also may be a random (but very annoying) occurrence.....
- CitizenThis number showed up in a vm message on my cellphone. The message was left about 9am on Friday 2/03/17, and started with a burst of rustling noise, then a pre-recorded generic man's voice saying a standard end-of-call statement, like "Thank you, goodbye." That statement ended the call.
- dsmeapprox. 15 calls EVERY DAY!
- AngelaI sent a text to My sister in law and she sent it back to me saying that 888 234 6786 was the caller ID instead of my text number. I think she has verizon. Please let me know how this number is her caller ID, instead of my cell #, when I texted her at a 516 cell number.
- Call type: Text message
- CWThis number is saved at my verizon voice mail, however, when trying to access it today I get this speil about offers and which one would be right for me. So what happened to my voice mail. They now advertise?!
- sunniReceived a call this a.m. Although my service is through Verizon, my vice mail is already set up and has been for two years...no message was left...I did not answer nor call back. CERTAIN this is a scam call. ONLY the number was listed on my caller ID
- SallyCompany said they are with Johnson & Johnson. I ask the person whom they were looking for and he said yes it was Johnson & Johnson - Note: Just spoke with the person I gave call to and they were Johnson & Johnson.
- Caller: Said they were Johnson & Johnson
- DNC replies to NicoleI don't have Verizo or Fios so if it's an access number you call what are "they" calling you or me for????
- Nick888-234-6786 called on my cell phone 3 time within one hour. I did not answer and it went to vm. Caller left one unintelligible word on vm each time. I tried blocking the number, but it came through again. Realized that it is the Verizon vm number. It must ring through as a different number but displays as this number. Don't know how to block it.
- DoNotCallMeOne of FIVE robos today (3-18-2019) between my landline and cell in a mega-barrage of crlminals lnvading my spaces.
INSTA-BLOCKED- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Show meSame as other complainers. Basically verizon can fix this but chooses not to. The problem doesn't cost verizon 1 cent.
VERIZON SUCKS- Caller: Didn't pickup call or voicemail.
- Anne replies to JThat explanation makes sense thanks for info
- JuanaquenaReceived a call to our land line (AT&T) from this number today (8 May 2019) at 1:46 pm (Central Time.) Caller ID: Toll Free Call. Didn't answer. No message left. Suspect it was some scammer.
- VRThis # called my Verizon cell phone 6-1-19 06:05AM, thought it was a telemarketing # so ignored it. He called again 6-3-19 04:56AM, I was awake and thought who in the **** is calling now I pick it up and say it's 5 in the freakin morning. He says "you've been calling us..." I never have called this # so I know he's a liar. I chew him up one side and down the other, no time for the guy to reply with more BS. He hangs up. I call the #, msg wants my 10-digit # but doesn't recognize it. I've had Verizon cell for years, THIS IS NOT VERIZON'S #!!! It's a scammer. For my Verizon VM, I call my own phone # and the lady's recorded greetings are not the same voice. When this # called the 2nd time, it didn't leave an incoming call "recent" on my phone. If he calls me again, little creep, I will try to get him to stop calling all of "us." I'm going to find this freak and will update with any valid findings. Seems like some creepy little military phone stalker, as DoD phones contract with Verizon, which is confusing, but wrong, to blame them.
- Caller: 8882346786 NOT VERIZON!
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- MBObviously this is not only a robocall, but it's a spoofed robocall. That's because there was only a partial message that was left on my voicemail. Then I read that the number is for verizon voicemail. I can safely block the number knowing this since I am not a Verizon customer. Technically this stuff is illegal (or should be illegal), but there isn't enforcement. I would have reported it to the FTC do not call list, but that is no longer funded.
- Caller: partial voice message
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Karen MeeTried to return the call and no access to voicemail box and said my phone was not a valid phone number. The number they called is my cellphone. I am on a do not call list and don't want solicitations. There was no company name so I don't know who the call was from. How do I get this to stop?
- Caller: ?
- SueSo far this I received (4) scam calls (according to my TV) each of which was, after a few rings, changed to 888-234-6786 (Verizon). Why can't our government DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE NERVE-RACKING CALLS????????
- Caller: SCAM CALLERS
