- BE| 1 replyI didn't call back as I don't have any cards that would have a new out of state number on it. Why are you all giving them information "verifying" you should be asking them which numbers they are calling YOU about and all other info requests. I can see the possibility of fraud on their part. I can't explain why your bank verifies them but my bank would never allow some other company to call me about a fraud. Anything like that is handled 'in bank' and I'm asked to come into the bank where they then call their own fraud dept and it is handled before I leave the bank. There is so much of our information 'out there' that any tidbit might give them enough to use against you or add to it because they have it and you verify more.

- Colorado ResThis is legit! - But, you don't need to talk to these people - JUST CALL YOUR BANK directly and ask if there are any issues with your cards. I had tried to use an air machine at my local gas station. The transaction failed at the machine 2x so I found and used coins. Next day I got the call from this 888 number but instead of calling it back I just called my bank directly and found out that the air pump vendor does it's billing directly from NewYork, but since I am in Colorado it was flagged as suspicious. They blocked the card. All I had to do was to call MY BANK to verify my recent transactions and the block was immediately lifted from my account. Technology is wonderful.

- Former National Bank Employee replies to BE'jus sayin... because of the all card fraud and data breaching that happened with (Target and other stores) in recent years a lot of banks have contracted 3rd party companies to flag suspicious activity and handle the cust serv side of those since it's usually just to verify and release. It is also why the entire US is finally on pin/chip cards now. It is not unusual that a 3rd party will call to verify - but as consumers we need to be hyper vigilant so if you are even the least bit uncomfortable of the origin of the call - just hang up and call your bank directly.
- king replies to Angelof course it wont be u cu, its a third party that monitor fraud for your credit unions
- B RoseFraud protection company that BECU uses. Tried my debit at a little handy mart and it wouldnt go thru, Twice. Went to a Walgreens and it worked fine but the 2 failed transactions triggered an alert. As soon as I walked in the door I got a call verifying that it was actually me using my card and not fraud

- KelliGot a call from this number about possible fraudulent activity on my debit card. They gave me a case number. Looked at my activity on my account and saw fraudulent activity all on the same day as the call. Called my Credit Union instead of calling the number back and took care of it that way. Didn't trust the caller

- Anonymous replies to gottaminit419This is NOT real. It's a scam to steal your info. They take legitimate credit union info and try to make it look like someone has comitted fraud. Don't fall for it!!!
- NickThese reviews are part of how people are being phished, don't believe it!!!! This is a straight up scam and you're being phished if you respond to any of it. Call your bank and verify, they'll tell you there's nothing wrong! These people get your information by stealing mail and use VoIP phone numbers to make it look like it's your bank, or an anonymous phone number, don't fall for it! CALL YOUR BANK.

- Tygerkat replies to KevinWhy would you look up the number when you already know who called you? Telling other people your call was valid doesn't help them because scammers spoof legitimate phone numbers all the time.
- CarlVoice Mail from this number. Reportedly from the CAHP Credit Union. I had dealt with this CU earlier in the day and had to cancel my credit card due to suspicious activity.

- deegeeI got a text from this number but the card number referenced regarding the suspicious activity ("card number ending in xxxx") wasn't any of mine. So it may be a legit text but it was sent to the wrong number, as I have often gotten texts meant for the previous owner of this number (from 6+ years ago!).
- Call RecipientI received a voicemail from a person at this number indicating they were Card Security for my Credit Union. Said they were calling to verify some recent activity on my card. The caller ID displayed Suspected Spam. What set off flags for me was the caller said when calling back to reference Case Number. Every scam call I've ever gotten always says to reference a case number. My CU usually sends me a text to verify whether a charge is legit or not. I didn't return the call but called my CU this morning. They said my account was fine. There were no restrictions and no suspicious charges on it and they asked if I had given any info. I told them I did not call. Some people here say it's legit. Apparently it's not on mine.

- NameReceived a call from this number today. The call is identified as both Co-Op Credit Union via Verizon and Kansas City Credit Union via Hiya. They claimed to be calling on behalf my credit union (they gave the actual name of my credit union) and wanted to check some activity on my debit card. I knew immediately that my CU would never call me to check activity, so I just listened to their questions, giving vague answers. After a couple of questions from them, I simply hung up and called my credit union to report the fraudulent call.
