Agree its Legit! All they ask for is the last four digits of your card number and verify your name. Then you verify a specific list of current charges. OK to trust.

This was a legit call requested by my credit union because I had used Western Union to send money overseas. My credit union had placed a hold on my account. I just had to verify my birthdate and name and that I authorized the money transfer. Falcon Credit released the hold and all is good.

Totally legit. Received a call this morning saying that someone tried to use my credit union card # at a Wal-mart. Looked suspicious because of the amount and they put a hold on the card. All they asked for was my birthdate and to confirm the last four of my card. Sure glad there are services out there like this.

Garden Girl - your wrong about this particular number being bogus and a scam. I work in the fraud detection department of a national bank and this is the same type of information we ask for to verify identity and transactions on your cards. However, there are scams and bogus calls out there, so do your research and remain vigilant.

My wife received a call from the number #1-888-241-2440 claiming to be a service working for my CU and asking to verify some suspicious activity on my debit/credit card.  They called my wife's cell first, but she gave them no information until she could investigate their claim. I called them back and they identified themselves as Falcon Fraud Services. They confirmed THEY ARE TOTALLY LEGIT, after confirming the transactions in question were also legit. I checked everything online too & it all checked out. I think this is a great service some CU's are using and am relieved to know someone is watching out for my debit/credit card! Thank you Falcon Fraud Services!

Correct this is Falcon Fraud, I called my credit union to make sure it was a good company and they said yes, I called them back and they pulled up my information based on my name and verified by birthdate and said someone just tried posting a transaction to my debit card that was deactivated several months ago when I got a new debit card... They automatically declined since the card is inactive.

Got vm from the above number.  Called them back as they identified themselves as a credit card fraud company.  Asked me for my name which I gave, then asked what number they had called and left a message, I asked since they called me shouldn't they know that.  She said if I was leary to call my credit union and they would bridge them on.  I did call my credit union and was told the number 888-241-2440 was not the fraud company they used and not to give them any information.  So I did not call then back again.  We will see what happens next.

Just got a call from this number saying they are calling on behalf of [my credit union] and asking for [my name] and to please call back. I just did and they asked for the phone number the message was left on and my DOB and asked if I made a purchase at [website] and named the company that I just literally a few minutes ago made a purchase through and said they had just placed a block on my card and are now removing it and to wait at least 5 minutes before trying to use it again.
If they had asked for my card # or the 3 digits on the back of the card, I would not have given it and waited til tomorrow to verify with my bank.

I got a call from this number this morning stating that I had a fraudulent transaction on my debit card. I called my credit union first to verify that they are indeed a legitimate company that works with my credit union and they are.

Completely not true.  This is nothing more than an agency working on behalf of credit unions (banks too, perhaps) that notify people when there's what looks like fraudulent activity on a credit or debit card.

This company is a Fraud-Avoidance agency, and they're legit.
They do the "fill in the blank" calls because they have several Credit Unions as their clients.  Don't worry though, they won't ask for anything too invasive.
Takes all of 3min of your time and the call will go something like this:

    *ring ring*
Operator: Hi, my name is XXXX, how can I help you?
Caller: Yes, I received a message about a possible fraud on my card, just returning the call for verification.

Operator: Ok, could you tell me the last 4 digits on the card of the account please?
Caller: sure, X-X-X-X.  Last name is XXXXXXXX.
(last 4 on the front of the card, no danger here, can get it off any receipt in your garbage)

Operator: Thank you Mr./Ms. XXXXX, and can you verify the birth-date on the account please?
    Caller: Sure, XX-XX-XXXX.
(No danger here, can get this off your facebook page ;p)

Operator: Thank you Mr./Ms. XXXXX. I see here you have a transaction of $6.95 at Burger King, is this correct?
    Caller: Yes, sir/ma'am.
    (politeness never killed anyone)

Operator: And another at Super-Cuts for $14.95, is this correct?
    Caller: Yes, sir/ma'am.

(Then they'll ask the one they're really calling about)
Operator: And also an overseas charge of $135.65, is this correct?
Caller:  Yep, those are all me!
Operator:  Alright, Mr./Ms. XXXXX, we'll go ahead and release the charge and that should be everything!  Thank you for your time, and sorry for the inconvenience.
Caller:  No inconvenience at all, keep it up!  Have a good one!
    *click*

Now, If it turns out that last charge IS NOT yours, then the conversation will go much differently ending in a freeze on the account and a re-direct back to your Credit Union for a new card. But if everything checks out, then you'll be done with this call in no time.  Failure to call them back will result in a freeze on your account "just to be safe"  so best to just call them and get it over with :)  I've never waited more than 24hrs before calling, so I don't know how long you'll have before they lock you out, but I've spoken with them a few times, I buy souvenirs from overseas and they get flagged from time to time. Never bother me though, at least I have comfort in knowing they're looking out for me. Hope this was informative!  Good luck :D

Received a call about charges placed on my account. I verified through my bank that they use this company for fraud monitoring before calling the company back. They asked my name & birth date to verify identity & told me about 4 transactions that were attempting to process on my card, only 1 was legitimate. A permanent block is being placed on the card used & my bank is supposed to contact me within the next couple of days with more information.

So this # 888-241-2440 appears to be a legitimate fraud monitoring service. Oh & when they called, they used my banks name not their own company name.

If in doubt contact your card issuer to make sure they use this service, that's what I did, but again it appears legit.

They called me @ 8 am on a Sunday morn.  When I called back they asked for my birthdate.  When refused she offered 3 other forms of ID to verify it was me.  One of which was my address (nothing secretive about that).  The info she asked for and that she was able to give me reinforced that it is a legit company.
She did not require Identity theft type information.

A man who called himself Rudy said he was calling "on behalf" of my credit union and said someone had tried to charge over $700 on a discontinued debit card. The last 4 numbers he gave me were indeed from a deactivated account. I asked what he wanted me to do, and he said nothing. The card was declined and no purchase was made. Seemed odd to me, and I asked, "Did you say you are calling from my credit union?" and he said, "That's right." He wasn't, of course. I thought maybe he was just trying to see if I was home. Could not say whether the call was legitimate or not. Didn't seem to serve any useful purpose.

This company is Falcon Fraud Services and is a legitimate company hired by credit unions to check for fraud.  They ask for my name and birthdate, and then ask about two purchases made on a certain date.  I verified that the purchases were made and that was it.  In effect, it serves credit union and the purchaser.

    Nothing to fear here.

I think this is a scam.  I have a savings account only with the bank they said they were calling about.
When I called the bank, they said they don't call on savings accounts or have anyone call on savings accounts and no activity was on my acct.
