I'm pretty sure Little Kenny Hughes is a renowned pedophile, previously associated with his childhood buddy,John Wayne Gacy..Be Advsed!- Caller: unknown
- grass root| 2 repliesSome guy keeps calling from 1-888-249-4134 and leaves a message to call back. I am not going to call someone I do not know. But it is very annoying. So I have found something very amassing about this. Although this call is from Chicago, as most believe, it’s headquarter is in PA. If the US consumers are willing we can stop such attack in its track by law.
1. We demand the politician pass law that a written debit is dead and is gone and the public need not be harassed over it or we flunk them on election coming soon.
2. I have drafted a letter to go to congressional and senate members asking them to allow US citizens to choose credit reporting agency to have our records kept by. This will send these companies scramble for perfection.
3. Most important of all, I am proposing that any software used online that collect US citizens information must be written, managed by one that has security clearance from US homeland security.- Caller: not known

- Peter Kim replies to grass rootDomestic terrorist group called “Merchants Credit Guide” is trying to extort on old debt that is expired statue of limitations to fund their illegal activities.
- Peter Obama replies to MaryAutomated Computer Call System left massages on daily bases, Merchants Credit Guide buys the old credit card debts from non-collectable list for a penny on the dollar and using terrorist tactics to extort money on the expired statue of limitations debt illegally.
- Adam Kelly replies to Jeremy| 1 replyMerchant Credit Guide is a “collection agency”. Judging from postings by consumers at Ripoffreport.com MCG appears to be a junk debt buyer. Junk Debt Buyers are collection agencies that acquire bad debt. Junk Debt Buyers are also responsible for a large number of debt collection and credit reporting violations of law. For more information on Junk Debt Buyers and their illegal practices visit http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/junk-debt-buyers.html . It also appears from calls that I have gotten from MCG, and posts made by others at ripoffreport.com, that they “fish” for information they don’t have. Calling people asking them for their Social Security Number, address, etc. Never give out personal information. Once when my wife answered the phone MCG was calling asking for me. I wasn’t home . They asked for her name, to verify our address, and even asked her for my Social Security Number. When she asked who they were the person would not provide a company name or give her the reason for the call. Obviously she was smart enough not to provide the information and If wasn’t for caller ID I still couldn’t have known who called. A company that is engaging in this type of activity is questionable at best.
Below I have provided information on Merchants Credit Guide that I found at the Chicago BBB website where there were multiple complaints filed against the company under 3 different files.

I hope you find this information helpful. - kimI got the same call. "it is very important that you return this call. Ken Hughes 1-888-249-4134." I hope I don't keep receiving this call. Is there anyway to stop this?
- RiverCityMikeI aswered a call at 8:51 a.m. local time this morning, consisting of a recorded message saying that it was a personal business call for [silence: no name in the script blank] and that it was important to call Ken Hughes at 888-249-4134.
Every couple of years I get one of these calls. This is my third from the elusive Mr. Hughes. I knew the drill, at least as it pertains to my situation, which appears to be pretty common. They have my phone number attached to an old debt, and they are looking for someone else. I am not sure, but I think it has been a different person each time.
DISCLAIMER: If you are sure that you don't owe anybody money, the below may work for you. If you have unpaid debt (or suspect it), even if it has rolled off of your credit report due to age, then I have no relevant experience to offer.
1. I call them back and volunteer only that I got a call from Ken Hughes. They have my phone number from Caller ID (if you call back from a different number than they called, you may need to tell them which number you are calling about).
2. They tell me who the call was for.
3. I say there is noone here by that name (because there is not).
4. They say the number will be removed.
5. The calls stop.
The wrinkle this time was that for the first half-hour or so, I would call the number and it would ring once, then after a few seconds, disconnect. After 10 or 15 minutes of trying, I googled the number to be sure I had noted it correctly. It took me 45 minutes to get through and get someone to talk to, and herein lies the source of my frustration.
When the removal process was completed, I stated that this was not my first experience, and while I was attempting to explain that if they had just been prepared to either 1) talk to me when I answered the phone or 2) handle my call when I called back, then I would not be unhappy with them, they hung up on me without saying a word.
In short, I feel they squandered an hour of my life and then refused to even apologize for it.- Call type: Debt collector
- cjhed1We are getting messages for someone that we do not even know. My husband has called and told them to remove our number from their system that the individual they are looking for is not at that number and they still call. I am thinking about getting the fax number or address and sending them a letter from my attorney.
- JeremyDid not answer the call.
- TeriWhat a bunch of maroons. They leave a message stating that this call is for Tella For. If you are not Tella For please disconnect now. By continuing to listen to this message you acknowlege you are Tella For. This is an attempt to collect a debt. This is Merchants Credit Guide. I guess they get 100% verification of who they are contacting since this was all left on my answering machine.

- Zackary Tanner| 1 replyI have received two phone calls from this number and they left recorded messages both times, since I was unable to answer my cell phone during my job hours. both calls asked if this a name that the computer system they had could barely pronounce and said if I wasn't this person to ignore the call. The first one I did just that. The second call I was curious and dcide to do a search on line for the number and I get this site among many telling me about this scam,
