I have been an investigator and a full agent for Millennian Investigative Services for more than 40 years. I am always surprised to read the responses of others when it comes to fraud. Most of them are good for a laugh.

Merchants Credit Guide exists for one of two reasons, if not both: (1) to force Qwest customers to purchase more Qwest services thereby padding Qwest's monthly income from their customers; (2) to destroy Qwest customers and cause them to pay large residual amounts to Qwest as well as finding new telephone service and paying for it.

The final result will be a family radio service with voiceprint identification, so that a person's voice will allow their communication to come through and if the person does not directly speak into your radio, you will never hear from them. This product will come onto the market for a low cost to consumers and it will carry no other associated charges such as monthly billing or residual penalty.

This phone number, 8882494134, is for "Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC". They are based out of Norfolk VA (corporate Office), Hampton, VA, and have offices in Hutchinson KS and Jackson TN.  They use dummy PO boxes out of GA - PO Box 3872, Duluth, GA 30096. They are publicly traded under symbol PRAA.  They are governed under the Federal Consumer Protection Act and the FDCPA and FCRA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act).  If any or all of their agents have used abusive tactics ie, use of profanity, refusal to identify themselves, harrassment, immediately report to the Attorney General office of your state and all states they operate along with the regional Federal Trade Comission office for your state and the states they operate out of.  
ALSO, DO NOT EVER PAY THEM ANYTHING.
They purchase old invalidated debts that are out of statue of limitations and cannot prove validity of any such debt.

I get similar messages with an automated voice asking for a name I do not know and one I can barely understand.

Call was left on my message machine - supposedly by not answering a question I confirmed I was the party being called.  In reality, the name they asked for is someone who has been dead for over 20 years and I know for a fact died not owining a penny to anyone!!  Obviously another in a series of scams lately where the "companies" blanket everyone in a large area with the name they are chasing hoping to be the blind squirrel that finds a nut.  Offer no information!!!

This is a junk debt collector that needs to get a real job and leave people along. They should know people do not answer unknown numbers today. What a real bunch of idiots. They need to go broke and get a real job. Just a bunch of scammers trying to collect on debts that have been writtren off years ago. Good luck. Again, another slimeball company that called my old number repeatedly. I got so sick and tired of finding their messages on my machine. At least once a week they would call. I don't know who they were looking for.

I always find these logs funny.  Ive been doing collections for 10yrs now and all I can do is sit back and laugh.  You all complain about these agencies are calling you to collect a debt that "YOU" took out and charged up.  You signed your name on the legal document saying you'd accept what they are offering, and when you fall behind its someone else's fault?  The best advice I can give you all is this, "Take responsibility for your own actions."  I mean if you run a red light and a cop give you a ticket do you blame someone else for your actions?  I think not.

This company called my in-laws - not me - asking for me by my maiden name.  They are beligerant and eventually hang up on my in-laws when they are grilled about their business (name, rep's name, address, matter, etc.)  My in-laws have repeatedly told them not to call their number and they keep calling.  I've called the number back and NEVER get anyone on the line no matter what time of (day/night, week/weekend).  I haven't used my maiden name in over 10 years so this is extremely suspicious.  I have filed a complaint with the IL AG and the BBB in Chicago.  Hopefully, something will make them STOP.  This has been going on for over a month.

Got a call from the same number.  Decided to Google it and saw all the comments.  Saved me an irritating phone call!  Thank You!

Yah, but the cop gives you the ticket immediately AFTER the incident. They're trying to collect from me a debt that is 17 years old. Responsibility works both sides of the street. Household Bank needs to take responsibility for its actions and not send out free credit cards to dopers. Good luck with collecting. I mightst still make some money out of this deal.
