I keep getting numerous calls from this company. I finally called back to get them to take me off thier list as I do not have any old debt and they refused to even tell me why they were calling unless I gave them my social security number which I refused to do. After that the woman (Gail) that I was speaking to started yelling at me and swearing at me. After I told her that I filed complaints with the BBB, Federal Trade Commission, and with the Do Not Call she got even angrier with me until I had to hang up on her.

Yeah I got the same thing 1-888-249-4134, He left no information about why he was calling but it was just SOO important but he used a different name "Steve Keneddy" Same ruff rugid voice everyone was talking about.

Yes, well to those who say "shame on you, you signed it you pay for it," are ignoring at least one explanation:  sometimes those who may have owed a debt  change their phone number and the poor sap stuck with the new phone number gets stuck with these creeps calling all of the time.  And try to tell them that!  HA! They don't believe you and ask you to give a message to this person you don't know.  It's all a joke.

SO:  I got a Panasonic DECT phone that will block these idiots after the first time they call me.  Get lost!

Got a call from #773-668-1631.  I answered it, said hello multiple times, but there was no response.  The other end was silent but they did not hang up.  I called back, and it is for some company called Merchants Credit Guide.  I hung up before speaking with a rep.  They called me back a minute later under #888-249-4134.  I was not able to get to it in time.

Ken Hughes has called us a thousand times over the past few years. Asking for someone that hasn't lived here in 15 years and has married twice and he is still asking for her by her maiden name. We have deleted it a thousand times and no problem deleting it a thousand more. We also have others that call. A sure tip off is when they don't ask for anyone by name.Just "please return my call" Then you know for sure they are just phishing. But Ken Hughes is the king of slime if you ask me.

I to am getting calls from this number (1-888-249-4134, to call a Ken Hughes but he never says who the call is for.  I never call back anyone who doesn't say who the call is for.  So he can just keep calling (what a waste of resources).  I to am on the do not call list.

I got a message on my answering machine in a female voice saying if this is not (male computer voice: Alan Larson) that by not hanging up, I am acknowledging that I am (male computer voice: Alan Larson), saying this is to collect a debt and asking that I call 888-249-4134 for an "urgent business matter".  Its really funny how it keeps switching between female voice and computer male voice saying the person's name, and how my answering machine confirmed to them that I am Alan Larson, even though in fact I don't know who this person is.

I got a call from MCG today and they hung up on me when i answered. Now this is not the first time they have called and hung up but today i called back. when a rep answered i told them what had been happening they asked me to hold on after thirty minits i called back and a different rep answered and i told them the same thing but this time i told them i did not want to be put on hold they asked for my phone number they asked for a woman the name they gave was real close to my wife's but still not the same i asked if they had date for the det it was two years before my wife was born so we checked her credit report and now we have to find a way to get them off of it

They call each day and hang up.  What's the point of even calling... unless... it's because some people get sick of it and call them back, which is what they want from what I've read here.  

Sometimes they ask for a guy with the last name of 'tokyo' then hang up.

These people are calling my cell phone WTH??  Who are they and why are they calling?  Someone answered and stated they were merchants credit... I don't owe anyone anything!!!  They are rude and incessant... then, they tried to get me to give them my ssn by quoting a fake one to me... I didn't do it.  This was scary

I get these calls at least twice a month, sometimes twice a week. They say the same crap, "this message is for *.*, press a button of you are not *.*" don't know the name, (about some sort of debt due). I have no past due bills. I am usually not home when they call but I did get one call at 8:10am Saturday morning when I was sleeping. Does anyone know how to stop it?

In response to your statement out of context "you signed on the dotted line, now pay up"!!!!  These pests are calling people that have nothing to do with debt incurred 12 or 15 or ever how many years ago and do not even know the people they are asking for.  I have had the same experience with this number.  I tell them there is no on here by that name, etc. etc. - does no good - they call back anyway.  I am going to be forced to get call block - I am sick to death of annoying phone calls that have nothing to do with me OR my telephone number.  Ever think they might be annoying innocent people???? HUH?????

Did you ever think that people dispute the charge for one reason or another and the company refuses to do anything about it or you paid it and have the proof but no matter what you do to show the proof it does not help? How about someone who becomes ill and cannot work because of it and cannot pay it because of that. I guess you never had any of these problems. Sometimes it has nothing to do with not wanting to pay your bills sometimes there are circumstances that prevent you from paying on time or what have you. Yes a debt is owed but foul language and people being rude is not right. You need to take those rose colored glasses off and look at the world.

No one was on the line when I answered. We are on the do not call list.

Wrong! My husband and I both have credit scores of over 900 and we do not owe anyone a penny.  This number is on the caller ID for our home phone.  Obviously, they are not calling because we are avoiding our responsibility for any obligations we might have.  So...slow down before you make blanket accusations.

My Mother recieved a call from 1-888-249-4134, they asked for me and my Mom told them that I did not live there, he then asked her if a social security number he gave was mine and my Mom said she did not know. Then he told her that I needed to get an attorney like yesterday. And then asked her if she had power of attorney over me. Kept asking her for my phone number and she said that she did not have it. Seems funny that they are calling for me over there instead of calling my home phone. I have not recieved any letters in the mail or anything from any collection agencies.

Next time you get a call from them, save them in your contacts as Bill Collector then set the ringer for them on Silent. That way they can call all they want but your phone never rings.
