- resilientCalls 2-3 week, I never answer, they never leaves a message.
- annoyedthey called and left no message.
it had their number and listed as the city was simply: "United States"
I have no reason to believe they are a legitimate Anything.
I do not owe anyone - also my cell used to be the house number and I get LOTS of b.s. calls.
Many telemarketers, people claiming to be this or that.
IF you DO owe anyone anything? - don't assume these people are legit. Don't believe ANY Caller who 1.)leaves no message and (important) revolving/completely different calling from numbers - and no call back number.
(Sue in 1/08) < Please don't give out relative's or anyone's name and/or phone number.
The more info they get the more legit they sound later when they call back as someone else. SDon't offer ANY Info - like "Is this about my school loans?" sounds ridiculous, but people do. just because you're a straight-forward person living a straight forward life, certainly doesn't mean other people do right?
Peace People. - Discusted of Being HarrasedKeep calling never leaving message. Calls everyday 5-6 times.

- CloCall and hangs up!
- pnevIt was very interesting to read others experiences it helped me realize that I am NOT the only one who is experiencing these annoying phone calls calling me four or times a day with whom I have never had any dealings. they didn't identify who they were. they wanted to talk to my son and did not tell me what they wanted only that the phone was be recorded but guess what it was being also recorded on my phone. I just hung up on them.
- Caller: not identified
- aj replies to Arkansas TargetThat's exactly what it is. Sons of hitches wont leave you alone, even after garnishg the max from your paycheck. I pay over $400 a month and they still call 43 times a day.
- MissMeOne replies to sueThey do not call people with the same last name they go to zaba search and find relatives of the people they are looking for and call their number.
- GotACallFromThem| 1 replyThey called me on Monday and they asked for someone and not me....I consider this to be harassment and how did they get my number???

- BigA replies to GotACallFromThemDebt collectors are notoriously lazy. The number might have been associated with that person in the past. Numbers are routinely published on the internet, many times erroneously. One phone call is not harrassement, but if they keep calling then it is.

I have to wonder why an allegedly “legitimate” business would need so many different numbers to call people from.

All in all this seems extremely suspect, having so many business names, and so many violations of the FDCPA.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

- JenniferYea they call my house phone 2 times a day and then after they call my house phone they immediately call my cell phone. Everytime I can't answer they never leave a voicemail. So today, since I can't work for 3 months, I got to answer the phone. I know I owe student loans from ITT Tech, but dang it when I tell them I can't pay them right now, don't continue calling me over and over and pissing me off. I told the guy that when I get back on my feet, I will call them to set up payment plans, they kept trying to say we want to help u, so how much can u pay...really do they not hear what I am saying? So I hung up on them. I just wish when u explain what is going on, they would listen.
