They call and never leave a message, please tell me how to get these people from calling all the time....

Another set of idiots ignoring the Do Not Call List...they called very early and didn't bother to leave a message. Now that I know who they are it's prank time. I'll let them lead me into a "substantial" sale, err, I mean "donation" then when it's time for the payment details, the conversation will end (one way or another) then I will block their number with my phone company's caller's "number block" feature, a great phone service feature, but sadly, I can only block 10 of these morons at a time...

Unwanted call from 888-276-2971

They called 6 times in 3 days and they were told 3 times to take our number off their calling list.  The third time the woman was extremely rude; insulting me by claiming I had them confused with another group. I would NEVER give money to them - and, now, never give money to any "charity" who calls.

They called my cell phone.  I didn't pick up.  Based on what's posted here, I don't plan to ever answer their calls.

This 'organization' calls my house several times a week, sometimes several times a day, usually between 8-9pm. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST -do they not understand what that means?! Next time they call they are going to get an earfull - I am tired of scam artists like this tarnishing the works of legit organizations like the American Cancer Society. DISGUSTING!

On April 17 2008 at about 5pm I received a call from my doctor. He gave me the results of some recent blood tests which seemed to indicate that I have a rare form of cancer and referred me to a specialist. Just before 9am on the next day I received a call from this so-called charity. Coinkydink?? I think not! Our personal & private information has become just another commodity in the marketplace. I'm appalled that total strangers/scam artists know things about me that I have not even discussed with my family.

Constant calls from this number and we would like them to stop calling.

getting calls & no messages from this number, upon returning call it says it is the Cancer Fund of America, but gives no option to request to be removed from their calling list or to speak with anyone.

Repeated calls (3 or more per day) over the past few weeks.  Upon calling back, I was told that the calls are computer generated and the respondent worked for a marketing company that was hired by the Cancer Fund of America.  He assured me he would have them remove my name from their list.  That was 10 days ago and the calls keep coming.  This is obviously a bad practice and should be halted.  If a charity subcontracts to a telemarketing firm, the telemarketer should honor the DO NOT CALL registry and violators should be prosecuted.

Continuous calls.  We ignore it because there is no named caller.  Mores the pity for real charity callers and the fact that the government's Do Not Call list allows charities to call and is just a way for scammers like these to have a "valid" excuse to call people for money.  REAL charities end up paying for it because the public ignores their calls too.  I could only suggest (and have to a couple of government agencies and organizations) that valid charity agencies should simply use automated messages on their calls describing their intent and request a call back at the caller ID number and that the government should be required to validate who is allowed to use the charity exemption.  Simple; whoever wants to use the listed numbers has to apply.

Calls two to three times day in AM and PM.  Rings to answering machine.  No message is left.  Caller ID shows both 800 service and 1-888-276-2971 for every other call from whatever annoying company they are with. I reported this number over 4 months ago.  It is still happening.

This outfit in Dearborn Michigan is a Telemarketer and is NOT exempt.

I made the mistake of answering one time and told the person calling that we don't take phone solicitations and that if she wanted to mail the information, I would check it out and concider it.  I thought the call was over and was about to say goodbye when she said she was transferring me to confirm that I was going to make a donation.  I hung up.  Since then they have been calling about 3x a day everyday.  I pick and then immediately hang up, not wanting to engage them or continue to hear the phone ring.  I wonder just how long it's going to take for them to give up.  I'm never answering another call with a # I don't recognize.

They call constantly and never leave a message on my machine.  I called back from a different phone, found out it's the "Cancer Fund Support Services" and that this particular agency has a pretty bad reputation.  I've had it with solicitors calling, I'm going to start blowing a loud whistle into the phone as soon as they ask for money.

They would not stop their spill, just the way they talk it sounds like a scam.  Wonder how much the funds actually go to those that really need it.  Definitely predators seeking prey to scam.   Makes one want to have a big air horn to blast through the line!

Another fraud in the guise of a charity in progress.

called looking for my wife when i said she wasn't home the lady said "OK.. I'll just call back then" (in a tone that left no doubt that she didn't believe my wife was'nt home) and hung up

Called and did not leave a message. This number appears to be owned by a bogus charity. Avoid dealing with these people.

There must be some way to stop these annoying calls.  Or at least a way of knowing exactly who is calling. AT&T must know who they are --caller i.d. shows unknown name and the number.  Why can't AT&T show us who they are when so many people are paying for caller i.d. and do not want to be bothered so many times from whoever makes the calls.
