Called and started to leave message and then hung up when answering machine picked up. According to a very reliable website, http://www.charitynavigator.org/, they have one of the worst expense vs. program costs for a so called "non-profit of this type.  For every $2 they spend on fundraising, they use $1 for programming:

received call @7:30pm 1/28/09 and again @ 9:30am 1/29/09.Did not leave message either time I will not answer any "unavailable" calls.

Numerous calls and I have never had anything to do with cancer, treatment or cancer charities.  This is unwelcome harassment.

look "Cancer Fund of America" or whoever you are -- if you're gonna call me, you have say something on the other end of the phone and not just let me keep saying "hello, hello" like a fool!

I answered the phone and ask for wrong person. I said it was wrong number but she's keep saying on the phone. I hung up. They have at least have to know who's calling to. They don't listen what person is saying. Rude people.

Notice all the defenders of this scam site all think that typing in all caps will help their cause?

Telemarketer called me on 2/11/09 at approximately 2:40 p.m. California time. I mentioned to her that I have asked to have me removed when she interrupted me to say, "no maam, that was not us, we haven't contacted you since 2006, so don't start cussing at me!" I told her she had no right to talk to me like that as she was calling me unsolicitied. At that point our conversation was ended by me.

Call repeatedly even after I informed them they have a wrong number.  When I got nasty about reporting them, they stopped calling for two months but just started their incessant pestering all over again.  This evening I decided to freak out the caller in the hopes that would finally end their harassment.  I saw the number pop up, the same woman's voice asked for this person, and I screamed loudly into the phone like I was being attacked, dropped the phone and left it dangling there for about ten minutes.  When I came back to hang it up, line was dead.  

That's going to be my new approach with all these intrusive creeps. That'll learn 'em.

While I'm well aware that charity VIPs often make big bucks, a check of Cancer Fund of America indicates that Pres. James Reynolds, Sr. had a salary of $186,453 in 2007 and Vice-Pres. James Reynolds, Jr. pulled down $114,920. Not bad family income considering how questionable their efficiency is in using funds. I wonder if they are as generous as they expect their telemarketer targets to be.

No Phone Message!

Just got a call from this number a few minutes ago. Of course, no message left. Did a Google search and found this website. Looks like I will be ignoring all calls from them in the future. Phuck them.........

caller from "Cancer Fund of America Support Services" claimed to have no affiliation with "Cancer Fund of America," after I read off the four settlements with state authorities from the web page (1998-PA, 2001-VY, 2005-MA, 2007-GA).  The supervisor "Angela D.," who would not give her full name, admitted that only 27% of donations are spend on cancer patients.  She then invited me to "have a blessed day," said that I would not be called again, and hung up.
I am referring this to the Kansas Attorney General.

On Jan 20, 2008 I left comments regarding Cancer Fund of America.  I was not, nor do I presently, support this organization.  I merely copied info FROM THEIR WEBSITE to attempt to inform the consumers on this searching website what the company is about & whose phone # it is.

This is one of those outfits where two-thirds of the money goes to the telemarketing. Also note they get $40K/year renting out their mailing lists.
And in 2005 the State of Massachusetts AG got them for violations of state law.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND DONATING TO THIS ORGANIZATION.  Too much negativity from reports and comments.

I hope this clears the air about my feelings about Cancer Fund Of America. Personally, I NEVER donaate over the phone unless I KNOW it's a legitimate organization AND I INITIATED THE CALL. RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH.....the more we do the more info for making proper decisions.

Number appeared on my caller ID no message left.  I have spoke to someone at least once before and asked to have my name removed from their list as I did not want anymore phone calls.  When I google the number it shows Cancer Fund Of America Support Services, whoever it is I want them to stop calling.

I receive a call this evening from this organization who knew my name.  I responded at this point that I was not able to help them out.  The woman then proceded to say that it would not take much...I was laid off recently, which I did not divulge (it was none of her business), but she proceded to badger.  I repeated my statement & hung up. I too am on the do-not call list, which apparently they ignore or have illegaly declared themselves as "not-for-profit".
