The federal government has an open bid policy for most of the work they contract out or supplies they require. They first place a notice in the classified ad section of the newspaper that they will be accepting bids for a certain job or requisitions and the date they will start accepting bids. They then review the bids that have been submitted and award the job or contract to the company that most closely fits the job criteria at the lowest price (or the company owned by somebodies brother) They do NOT solicit via telemarketing call centers.

I am the owner of a small company and I have discusssed this program with the caller.  it is not a scam in that they provide your company name via e-mail blast governent purchasing agencies.  For $500.00 per year (lowest level they offer) thye will send your anme to any agency within 100 miles of your work site.  The questions become:

    1. does anyone read e-mail blasts?
    2. are there any agencies within 100 miles of your work?
    3. why won't they offer satisfied client lists?

I decided it is like a lot of other ad companies.  Mostly smoke and mirrors.  It is something like an internet yellow pages that no one reads.

Our company also is receiving several calls a day.  I have told them we already do business with several gov't agencies in our area.  Are they targeting the Tulsa Area this week?

Everyone should sign up for this program!  That way when they take all your money and put you out of business it will be less competition for me?  :)

    NYC Company
Someone who identified herself as Heather Lewensky (spelling?) after multiple requests from me for more information on who she was working with, called and was adamant about speaking to the President of the company. She also wanted to know what type of company we are, and who the President / owner / CEO is.
If you're going to call someone, you should know who or what type of business you're calling. If you have to ask, it's advertising / spam / scam. She wasn't exactly polite, either. I obtained their information and gave nothing out.

This number just called my work (printing company) yesterday and asked to speak to our owner. I routinely screen telemarketers and this just sounded like it was not legit, but since we do work for a few federal departments I decided to ask my boss if he wanted the call. He unfortunately fell for it and gave them our company credit card info. Later that day he realized it was a scam and we tried to cancel (and of course canceled that credit card), they said they needed written proof that we wanted to cancel, which we gave them, and asked if we could have written proof that our cancellation had been confirmed. The woman on the phone told us "isn't me telling you confirmation?" before putting us on hold, we then heard a man in the background saying "Just tell them 'This is your confirmation, have a nice day' and hang up", which is what she did. Yeah.... sounds real legit.

I work at a small print shop and got a call about this. It's obviously a scam. The name of the guy who called me is Frank. Did anyone else get a call from him?

    Where's There's a "Wil"
Ya, I just got a call from Jayme, actually scheduled the appt for Mon @ 10:30 am. I've been told by the owner of my company to "act" like the decision maker on these calls, to "screen" them for him. I am NOT keeping that second call, after what I've read here. And since Mid 2009 too?

Received a call from Rick Ramsey and when he learned I was the outside sales person he stated he needed to talk with the owner. Said we would get Federal work and get paid the same day. Sure sounds too good to be true.

    THEY ALMOST SUCKERED ME!!!
After giving them my credit card information and getting off the phone, it was brought to my attention that this is nothing but a SCAM so I cancelled my credit card before the charges could be applied. The next morning, RUSS COLLIER called from his Saint Petersburg Florida phone# 727-471-8841 and I began questioning him about why they don't report to the Better Business Bureau and his response was "Why do we need to report to them while enough people are saying good things about us." When I pointed out that the Government doesn't use an independent guide such as FPA, Russ got real snooty and said "your not gonna be in the guide anyway because your card was denied." then he hung up on me and I thought this was strange because Russ claimed that he was a retired purchaser from the Air Force and those gentleman usually have manners. In reviewing their 3 pages application I noticed that it doesn't mention the word "Federal" because if it did, they would end up in Federal prison. You would be better off to get T-shirts printed with your company name, at least you have a shot of getting some more business. I find it interesting that they tried to charge my credit card before I even got the application back to them. It strange that they don't know the capabilities of the companies that they're considering listing in their guide.

I got a call as well and I am not the owner but they (Chris Mills) spoke with me anyway, saying that the government is required to use small local businesses for contracts under $100k.  I told him I'd talk to the boss and I called back afterward and left a voice mail but I've yet to hear back from them.

If you get alot of Calls it is due to you being in a HOT AREA or HOT ZONE where contracts have gone unanswered and if this happens the Larger Business get these contracts which they love when that happens because they get the money and you the SMALL Business Misses Out so if they keep calling just Answer and Tell them I AM NOT INTERESTED and they will not call you anymore.
