It must that time of year to hit on print shops. I too had a phone call from a Travis and own a print shop. Caller ID 402-982-0523 which read Purchasing Dept.
While on the phone I googled and found this site. I told him IF I'm interested I will call him.
BBB's current rating is "C" FPA is NOT accredited and this is verbatum from their site "The BBB has requested basic information from this company. The BBB has not received a response. Without this information, the BBB may not have current information concerning such things as the company's management or its nature of business."

    So there you have it!

Mary from the Federal Procurement Agency contact our company the telephone number was 1-888-408-6759. She only wanted to speak with the owner who was truly not available.  It sounds too good to be true.  I googled the phone number and the number could not be identified.

It seems to me that if you were actually a real company then you wouldn't hang up on a potential client when we answer your first question. I just got a call from some clown from the FPA and he asked if I had ever done business with the Fed before. When I said that I had not and that all the business seemed to be done through on line bidding, he just hung up on me. I don't think this is a real company.

The Federal procurement Agency is a scam as you have a local source that will send you email blasts geared to whatever industry you are in that the govt may have a bid out for.  There are also fed biz and other free sites that you can look for agency bids.

These guys just want your money so they can send an email blast that the govt can't use as most have to go thru the contracting office.  No such animal as same day payout in the government business.

FPA? Also use telephone number 888-408-6759.  Call said he was Frank Ramsey from the Federal Procurement Agency and that they wanted us to do some jobs for them all of them were under $20,000.00 and you get the same day pay.  Very unlikely.

How can simultaneously say someone who you don't know is mistaken, but then say you are insulted by their "mistake"?  Someone states that something "sounds" suspicious, someone who you don't know and know nothing of how much they know and you take it as a personal insult?  It can only be taken personal if the person directed it at YOU.  What are you 12?  Me think thou dost protest too much, sounds suspicious to me.

I own a print shop and received one of the phone calls from FPA Guide, followed by many more phone calls.  The same pitch, how to get loads of government business and how the government must go to small business with their jobs. Additionally, the universities and institutions use this guide.  I asked for a sample of the type of projects that are out there and would be local to me.  Mike from FPA Guide  forwarded me a sample of a job in my local area.  The sample job happened to be a local University that my shop serves.  I called my contact at the university and established that all their print jobs were given to my shop with the exception of jobs over $25,000 that are required to be published.  They published on the internet and requested proposals to print the school newspaper for a term of one year.I inquired with the university about FPA Guide and they never heard of the outfit and did not submit their project anywhere except to advertise on their own web-site.   I called Mike at FPA Guide and explained my discovery.  Clearly, all FPA does is gather public posting of data and then makes at public information available to other interested parties.

Just got a call from "Vanessa LaRue" with the "Federal Procurement Agency."  I hung up on her halfway thru her call script.
She called back and asked why I hung up on her.  I told her we weren't interested.  She asked "Interested in what?"  I responded "Solicitations."
    She started laughing at me.
    I hung up again.
She called a 3rd time to laugh at me and then hang up.

    What a bunch of clowns.

Someone called saying they were from the FPA (Federal Procurement Agency) and asked to speak to the only the owner of the company. They try to act very "business-like".  When asked some questions to verify their identity... they hung up. They act like they're trying to scam you.

This is not the first time they've called. The number they used this time was 701-509-8589.

I just looked on the BBB website and it said that they have requested information from them but haven't received any response.  The website gives them a B rating and the only reason given for the rating was the amount of time the business has existed.  I received a call from them today and when I asked what agency of the federal government they were affiliated, he stumbled and gave me an obviously false answer...saying something that sounded completely made up.

If it sounds too good to be true...

Anyone thinking of signing up with FPA Guide beware! They say they offer one thing but don't deliver. We know, we were dumb enough to fall for their pitch. Now they refuse to reimburse our money. Don't waste you time and effort with them. They don't deliver. They are the one's posting their good reports info saying they are a legitimate company.

I have good reason to believe this call was no more than a scam. I told the young girl, calling herself Amber Potts, that I did not want to be rude but I was not interested. She said "may I ask why, I replied " no you may not"; she wished me a Merry Christmas and said good-by.

The reason I was concerned, She ask for a company that was not mine. When I told her the business I am in; it to qualified for these exclusive contractual opportunities of a government nature. I guess everybody knows how freviously our Government is with our tax dollars.
