- Xcel Customer replies to Ruth| 1 replyIt is Xcel. I called the number on my bill and verified it was a valid outgoing number from their credit department. It is Xcel Energy. 1/5/2016
- IanClaimed it was from Xcel Energy and said I should call back by 9. I called Xcel's main number, the person I spoke with said it was the credit department at XCel energy calling, apparently I forgot to pay last month.
- Caller: XCel Energy
- RAHGot a call morning. She said it was Xcel Energy and wanted to know why we hadn't paid our bill and if we needed help. She asked if we wanted to take care of the bill right now on the phone. My husband said no I don't pay the bills my wife does that online. Pretty sure this is a scam because the bill was only seven days late and my daughter said they pay right away and Xcel Energy sends letters they do not call.
- Caller: Xcel Energy
- TriciaThis number, which claims to be X-Cel, called my boyfriend just now. Our electric is under my name, and I pay the bill. It is not late. Didn't even bother to call back.
- Caller: X-Cel
- MikeXcel Energy - I called them back ... representative looked up my account and confirmed I had no balance due and my account was paid three days prior to due date. so why the call? "must have been a mistake" she says ... 2nd day in a row that they have called!!
- Caller: Xcel Energy
- Call type: Debt collector
- MarcusThis is excel, they call me every month to tell me they will be cutting down trees in my area.

- by: me, myself replies to CIt is not car but power but they are still actually NSP and i do not write Xcel on bank checks. If one looks over the statement (not bill) you will find Northern States Power Company on it. So i use Northern States Power Company. Their first notice is a disconnect notice, Then they call on the day of the disconnect. Then someone will come to your door and if you aren't available they will leave a shut off notice. After that they will come back onto your land and place a blocker behind the meter. They posted a payment of $284.00 to my account on February 19 then on the 23 they created a disconnect notice. They gave until March 8 and are now calling. My last payment was posted 18 days before the 8th of march disconnect date; 19 days ago and they are ready to threaten me. It's still winter here
Not a scam but are calling to bully! - by: me, myself replies to AdministratorTrust me, it IS nsp but i would not call back. Any attorney worth his salt would not recommend calling back. If you ever talk to them do it as the Authorized Representative and "attorney-in-fact" {do not say law but fact - look it up}. If they do not wish to talk to you in that capacity then let them go but to talk to them is to contract and you probably do not want to agree to anything. So do not "be" the name, "go by that name" or act in the capacity of authorized representative. Say, i am not [that name] but i am the A.R. for that name. - by: me, myself replies to KellyI could still be them but if you call and ask, "What can i do for you?" then you are in the drivers seat and asking them to contract with YOU but they wish for you to contract with THEM. So they'd rather talk to you went they call and you answer. Just try once to ask {anyone: a police officer, judge whoever} is there something i can do for you? That's asking if they wish to deal on your terms. I don't contract any payment agreements (plans), but that's me! I'd rather pay in full, but if i fall short i fall short but the payment plan is on my terms. Hope this helps someone!
- by: me, myself replies to BrodieAgain, they need you to pick up your phone and not to answer your call. Not that they NEVER would.
- by: me, myself replies to kwNot necessarily. They could be legit but i still would never give agree to allow them to use my c.c. account number. I may be possible for them to keep using it if they can trick you into agreeing to let them use your cc number for payment {from now on}. There is a great secret that these bills are already "paid" by your s.s. number that they have on file. That's why they need your ss no. because they need it to set-off the balance because even though your account is prepaid {via your birth certificate account} they cannot actually receive any valuable instrument from your birth certificate account that actually paid for it but if they can get you to pay for it with your dollars then they get something of value. You need to give them your dollars or they'd shut you off but if you file the correct tax forms you can claim all the "money' that they collected from you yourself. The the KEY is the you MUST have there EIN or FEIN in order to do your paperwork. With your ss no they can file the requires irs forms and report but you cannot file as required to get that money back from the irs. After 36 months, if you don't claim it back, the company can file a 1099-A (abandoned money) and get something of value. Now if you sent them money and do not file to get it back from the irs then the company can double dip by accepting your payment and then after 36 months file a claim with the irs. The irs will pay to them the abandoned property that you didn't file to get back on your return. It is VERY COMPLICATED TECHNOLOGY but it is in commerce since HJR 192 public policy 48, 48 stat 112 and public policy 73-10. The rabbit hole gets deep!!
- by: me, myself replies to M G(November 1 through March 31) are protected but make payment before the end of march to settle them down or apply at the Department of Human Services before 3/31. The date they use for "disconnect" is likely the day before the next billing date. So my billing date is the 9th and the disconnect date is the 8th. they will come to your door before shut-down and still they may leave a notice on your door and leave without immediate shut-off which is done at the meter. By the way, you are not a human but your birth certificate legal person is. You can only be a man or woman and never a human in your sentient capacity. Never are you a male or female in propria persona but as a legal fiction. I never want or seek human rights. I'm content with my liberty, thank you very much!
- iamadingdong2XCEL (though not the REAL XCEL) called my cell phone claiming they needed my account information (service address, etc) in order to investigate "problems" they are having in my area. I knew it was a phishing expedition by a scammer as NO company has my private cell phone number...not the utility companies, not the credit card companies, NO ONE I do business with. I have a land line number they can reach me at. This is NOT XCEL Energy.
- Caller: XCEL Energy
- Cw replies to MeNorthern States Power? Or Car? Xcel used to be Northern States Power years ago.
- LuciGot a call on my unlisted cell phone not the phone associated with my xcel account, it is a scam.
- Caller: Xcel
- RussellThey called a client of mine and told her they were with her investment company and wanted to verify how much she had with them. Thankfully, she hung up and called me. Totally BOGUS!
- Annonymous| 1 replyI received a call from this number twice. They left a message stating it was Xcel energy- once on Monday and now again today (Friday). I went online and paid my bill on Monday through Xcel's website so I'm not sure why they would still be trying to contact me....
- kenuth replies to AdministratorAnd your insider knowledge or proof of that?
