They claim they are Xcel Energy, but this is not the number Xcel usually calls from. Called Xcel's main number, and they said it was not them. SCAM NUMBER!

I pay my bill every month by calling this number.  Never has given me a problem or suspicion until I seen these.  My bill is up to date and so is my bank account so I'm 101% sure this number is legit.

What on Earth are you trying to say? Try reposting your comments and use some punctuation and complete sentences this time.

I received a voicemail today stating it was from Xcel Energy and to call back by 8:00 Central Time. I looked up Xcel Energy and did not see any 888 phone numbers listed for the company. Additionally I checked my account with the company on their website and do not have any missing or past due payments. I will not be calling this number back!

It is Xcel energy collection unit - would not be listed on website - payments do not always get updated right away

All these comments about this being legit and how "if you were ever behind or made a payment over the phone they have your number" is BS.  My bill is paid every month on time through their website with auto pay and I still get these calls twice a month.  I have never once paid over the phone.  I do give them 5 stars for trying to keep posting and making people think this is legit...  BRAVO...

it's NOT Xcel, it's a scam that is using hacked account information to trick people into calling and sending money to a scammer.

DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK OR GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.  I read these comments before calling them back and when I confronted the representative I was talking to that this wasn't really Xcel and that they were scammers, I was hung up on.  ANY XCEL NUMBER WILL BE 800, NEVER 888. Even if it's their "affiliates" it will be an 800 number.
The scammers are on the rise people! This is like the 3rd or 4th call I've received in the last month or 2 from a scammer saying they are Xcel or the IRS.  Be careful! Many companies will NEVER ask for your information over the phone.

Left a message about my account with uppco energy.  Do not live in the up.  Called uppco and they have no record of my number.  It's a scam..

This isn’t a scam call, it’s an automated system from Xcel Energy for those who are behind on their electric payments.

I too get calls from this number, they never leave a message. *** I DO in fact NEVER answer nor call back numbers that I don't know. **** Remember the old trick, spoofers call number trying to get a yes / no answer and they can then use that recording to do what they want with your telephone number. ALWAYS err on the side of CAUTION!
