I received a text on my cell phone saying thank you for being a preferred client and to call the number to get my free Wal Mart card. Of course I didn't.  It also said to text differnt things if I want to stop or something else to quit.

I received a text as well, from the number 44847. It said Thank you for being a preferred client. Call 1-888-438-9660 to claim my free walmart gift card. At first, i didn't believe it. But then i'd at least try to call. It took me a while to get through, because of lots of callers. When I was finally able to talk with someone, he told me that i would receive a $200 gift card in the mail, plus other coupons. All I would need to do is pay for the shipping and handling. I then asked him how they got my information, such as my phone number. He said that they are affiliated with many internet sites, blah, blah. I started realizing that they didn't even know my name until they asked me to "verify" it. I then asked how would i know that this is not a scam, and he said that the conversation was being recorded. He said no personal information will be used. He asked if I wanted to by visa, american express, etc. He could tell i was hesitant, since i was looking them up online. And then politely ended the conversation and hung up.

I too recvd a txt from 1-888-438-9660, regarding some walmart gift card. All my phone numbers are registered with the "do not call list". Still got this junk! I first googled the number, read what others had reported, then decided to respond by texting
    "STOP" On the Do Not Call List-You will be reported.
The response I recvd was:  Your subscription to ModernAd alerts has been cancelled and you will no longer recv msgs or charges. www.3csms.mobi/modernad   blah blah blah.

They called me too. I aked the lady whether they are part of walmart, and she told me that they are jewellery dealers. I smelt a rat. I told her that I do not disclose my credit card information on the phone with people I do not know. She had given me a lot of crap about gifts and coupons. I told her that I was not interested in that offer because it appeared suspect to me. I then wished her a good day and hang up.

I received a text from modern ads from 448-47 requesting I call 877-276-0980 to claim a $200.00 walmart gift card and text Stop to quit and not receive calls or charges. I did and received another message I would not receive msgs or charges. This is a scam!

email pretending to be walmart with 1000.00 gift card so they could charge money on my phonebill i think the phone company is in on it

Glot a txt message saying I had won a $200.00 Walmart gift care & to call877-276-0908 to claim the prize and to txt STOP 2 quit.  I txt stop to the number and they advised I wouldn't receive anymore messages from Modern AD alerts or be charged.  I sent an email to support@moderntxt.com and advised them this was a scam and if my account was charged I'd take legal action against them, because I don't know how they got my cell phone number.

I reiceved a phone call from these people from Moderntxt.com   anyone know how to contact for a lawsuit

Has anyone seen any charges on their mobile phone bill?  I received the same text you all have received without even giving this number out to anyone- a personal line that I use only for outgoing calls - my number is restricted, for a purpose, and it has never received an incoming call, much less a text.  Just wondering if anyone has been charged anything...

When I replied STOP, I received this message:
Your subscription to moderntxt alerts has been cancelled & and you will no longer receive messages. For more info email support@moderntxt.com

I never went to any site with this place's info. I never signed up for anything. WHERE are they getting my number????

I got the same text message wanting me to contact them to get my Walmart gift card. I may have been born in the morning, but it wasn't yesterday morning, so I replied "Stop" and also got the message telling me the subscription was cancelled.  Has anyone had any charge on their phone bill, because I've had a scam like this before and it was unpleasant telling my phone provider that I wasn't paying that bill.  Also, I tried to go to moderntxt.com and apparently it doesn't even exist, so how can they receive email?  I'm so sick of all these scams, I wish there was better regulation on the internet.  It has been around long enough now that they should be able to do something to protect us from scam artists and thieves!!!

Stupid Moderntxt [***] I never registered for. It must have been from some phishing app in Facebook, as I have given a couple old friends my number, but not publicly.

Received the same type of text.  They claimed we had "purchased or subscribed" to something on line.  Not true, because this phone number is NEVER used and is not attached to ANY email.  Then they claimed the person before us with this number must have purchased something.  LIARS!  We have had this number for over 10 years! The representative was PATHETIC.  He did not know how to respond to my challenges.  He had someone in the background FEEDING him the words to say!  HILARIOUS!!  I told him that he should tell his mouthpiece in the background to whisper because I can hear him.  They were stunned!  DOUBLE HILARIOUS!!  I told them if they did not stop this scam, a LAWSUIT was coming!  I asked the "couple" if they wanted this to happen.  I a shaky voice "they" replied "no."

I texted STOP and received another text saying my "subscription" to moderntxt alerts has been cancelled.
CRIMINAL!!
