- halfpintI also recieved a call from moderntxt.com yesterday. They told me that I had been chosen to receive a 100.00 Wal-Mart gift card, however I was told that I would need to pay 28.00 to have it sent special delivery. Red flags went off in my head.I asked the lady to please explain to me why if I had been chosen to get this gift card would I need to pay 28.00 for it to be shipped, when all they had to do was send it by regular mail using a stamp. Well I got an off the wall answer on that question!! So I told her that this was a full blowned scam, and all they were doing was trying to get your banking information, so the could wipe out a persons bank accout.Boy she didn't like that, because she knew that what I was saying was true. So to all the good people out there, please don't fall for this or you will lose more than 28.00. I called her a person of fraud and a scammer. I hung up on her and gave the main headquarters of Wal-Mart a call to report this and gave them the web address. www.moderntxt.com so that they could check these people out. The lady at Wal-Mart told me, that Wal-Mart never calls, text, or e-mails anybody about winning any of these things. So everyone please be careful!!! Our money comes to hard for us to get scammed out of what we have!!!!

- KimTwo months ago I got charged $9.99 each for four text messages on my phone about winning a prize. Because I did not text "stop" back, Verizon applied the charges. I don't get this? Anyway today I received a similar call from 632-73 which references the number you are talking about. I did text stop back and will check my bill to make sure I do not get charged anything. I don't understand how Verizon or any other phone company can allow people to get charged when they have not asked for a service. Since when does not responding mean yes?
