When I texted stop, the return text said it was from "moderntxt.com".  I traced this URL and it was owned by XIOLINK.COM, a St Louis, MO.  The CEO is Brad Pittenger.  A phone number for them is:
    Sales & Support:
    877.4.XIOLINK

    an address is:
    Brad Pittenger, Chief Executive Officer
    XIOLINK
    1111 Olive Street
    St. Louis, MO 63101

I suggest you write him and let him know how his ?service? is impacting you.  If you have further problems, I suggest you contact local publications in his home town such as The St Louis Business Journal
    http://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/stories/2005/10/24/smallb1.html

Hope you find this information helpful.

Never thought I'd fall for one of these f*%!@ing phishing scams. I've been researching what happened and this is basically my situation: typed in youtub.com without the e, got redirected to a youtube survey on how I use the site. Then I got redirected to another form saying thank you, choose your free gift (should have figured out at this point, not to mention the link). Filled out the survey basically asking my phone number and address.

Then I got a text from 448-47 that read
"GiftConfirm.com - To get your free gift go to www.giftconfirm.com! Txt STOP 2 quit, HELP 4 Help."

    I texted STOP, then got
"Your subscription to moderntxt alerts has been cancelled & you will no longer receive messages. For more info email support@moderntxt.com"

I called verizon support and had the representative place my number on a block list thats doesn't allow these five digit numbers to text you [***]. It was free. Although I don't know if there's already been a charge to my account yet from the first text.

My only fear is that they use my address name and birthdate to take the little that I do have in my name. Why can't the fcc or the ftc get this [***] under control?

If I get robbed down the road I'm taking what I have in my wallet and driving to wherever these goons work. I'll walk right into their office and steal the god-damned fax machine right off the desk and see how they like it! If they ask me what I'm doing I'll tell them to text "STOP" to stop me and "HELP" for assistance.
