Call from Rich Bryan of California (6:25 p.m. Monday, March 30) advertising a 12-volt grease gun from Neiko Industrial for $189.90, along with other tools. When we said no, it seemed too much to pay for a grease gun during these tough economic times, Mr. Bryan became hostile, calling my husband a "broke [***]" and saying he would give our phone number to all of the telemarketers he knows and tell them to call our house. He called my husband other names and threatened to send the grease gun anyway and then ruin our credit. My husband hung up on him.

I wonder... have any of you called google directory assistance?  maybe they get our number when we call and pass it along to the advertisers....

I am from czech republic and have received call from above mentioned number at 2 am CET. As I picked up no one was answering.
Today I googled the phone number and seems more people are beeing disturbed by the same number.

888-555-1212 has called me every 5 minutes for the last half hour (11-08-09).  I have not answered, but find it very annoying.  Apparently nothing can be done, judging by the other threads in this message.

It seems that FREDERICK HANNA will lie on court affidavits about his position and most affidavits attached are bogus in the information stated. Fred J. Hanna is NEVER to be trusted, his court filings should ALWAYS be challenged.  Fred is concerned about one thing; separating you and your money.

** It appears as though FREDERICK HANNA has apparently closed the Roswell road office in Marietta. I pass there often while doing errands and there are no cars parked there or signs of activity. I peered through the heavily tinted glass and the place looked empty.  Looks like Fred has packed up shop and moved.  Fred is likely down sizing as his accounts have shrunk to a fraction of what he used to handle. He, like most bottom feeders is experiencing belt tightening like never before. Consumers are also challenging his every move, which has led to a thinner bottom line.  Hanna is now going by the name of Georgia Receivables with a new address of 2160 Kingston, Court, S.E., Ste. 0, Marietta, GA 30067.

CAUTION: I recommend you NEVER disclose your bank account or credit card information to a debt collector, as you risk them emptying your account, or maxing out your credit card.

Almost ALL collectors are scam artist! You do not owe money to ANYONE who is not directly employed by the original creditor!  Most important of all! DO NOT TALK TO THEM ON THE PHONE!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER.

Almost all collectors are get their debt info from the trash cans of banks or other collectors. They use fear to intimidate you into paying them money they are not entitled to.

Question anyone who claims you owe them money. The must mail you validation documents. Make them take you to court. Make sure you show up for your court hearing. 9 times out of 10 they won't show up. You do not owe anyone money unless a court says you do.

They can not have you arrested. Your credit report is not that important (and will fix itself in time).

Most important of all! DO NOT TALK TO THEM ON THE PHONE!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER.

All correspondence must be in writing! The use verbal communication to threaten and intimidate. Many bottom feeders are give up if they can not get you on the phone. I have had 8 of them give up. Only 2 filed in court and they did not show up because they can not validate the debt. If they can not provide legal documents proving the debt, they do not stand much chance in court.

Number on caller ID, did not answer, and from the looks of the comments, glad I didn't.

This "company " still making calls to peoples cellular phones. I have been seeing this number pop up on my phone at least 2 times a day you can't  call it back the number is not a working number. When you answer  there is nothing but silence on the other I tried even muting my end and letting it on speaker whatever or whoever it is will stay on the line indefinately still wondering what the heck they want

Has called a number of times just beeps. Attempt to call back indicates not a valid number.

Ok just got a call from them but didn't answer.  Saw this list thought i would reply.  According to information posted on this site, ie cellular trace, possibly is a company that is keeping track of cell #'s for a database for people to find others with.  I kind of skip tracing.  The web site www.cullulartrace did not come up for me but thanks to Google site caching the following text is from their website in April.

I'm so glad I found this site!! I looked up some numbers that were calling me but not leaving messages. I even had one call me really late at night and then demand that I pay them right away! I told them It Was Too Late to call- I've actually won two lawsuits against debt collectors for violating it the time ordinance thing. It's been around for a long time, you'd think they would know better! If they are harassing you, it's ILLEGAL! If they tell anyone besides you or your wife/husband about the debt, it's ILLEGAL!! If they are really nasty with you (swearing!), that's against the law too! Don't let the debt collectors harass you, know what they can do and what they can't. got a call just now from this number on my cell phone it comes up INFORMATION as the name of the caller?

I received a call from 888-555-1212, I didn't answer it. I DO NOT answer calls from #'s that I don't know.
I don't know who it was, but I'm guessing they are phishing for active #'s to charge crap on your phone bill.

Thank you Genius! They called me on my cell phone while I was taking my lunch break which is 888-555-1212, glad I didn't answered it. I looked on 800 number and it was a bill collector. Eww! This is my first time that the collectors had called my cell phone.

They had called my cell phone while I was on my lunch break. Glad I didn't answered it. And they didn't leave a message. HA-HA!

Got a call this morning from 888.555.1212 - no voicemail sent and when I call back it states that the number is no longer in service.

They keep calling several time a day out of no where so frustrating!

This appears to be a Canadian Zip T4N3J5, and the AB may be Alberta Canada.
