I know this is a scam number they called said it was a second attempt to contact me about an investigation. I called back and they didn't give a name or anything and asked for my social security number on an automated system. I didn't enter it obviously and it hung up on me. I would like to not be contacted by them again.

Received a call from a "hidden number" then received a voicemail from 888-609-9452 that listed someone's name (not mine) saying they were trying to contact that person because an investigation was opened in their name and to call 888-609-9452.

Yeah they suck!  Usually comes in as unknown and they leave a 888 number.  Out of curiousity I called and they number was "out of order" per Verizon.  But they immediately called back and I let it go to voicemail.  Their message this time was that they needed to confirm my address since they are sending out court papers to my address.  F THEM

I received a call saying it was their second attempt to serve me. They had been to my home and were to return on a fraud investigation matter. A man left a message.
When I returned the call, a lady answered and knew the last four digits of my social security number, so it's likely they had hacked a system that could be linked to your banking or credit.

I was supposed to have had a Capital One card back in 2004 and filed for bankruptcy. The card was offered under a high risk. Today's interest is $6000, and she wants to settle the debt outside court. I was like, sweetheart, we're going to court. I was hoping you could provide all that information. I've never known anything about all that.

They store your phone number, so a recording is put with your name, and they want you to give your last four numbers of your social to identify its you.

Caller ID said unknown, barely rang one short ring. Same as most comments here about legal action. Someone here mentioned Hammond Law Grp, googled and there is a scam where their name is being used but it isn’t them. Hammond says do not call them back, etc. They ask to report call to Colorado Springs PD and Hammond has begun trying to pursue the scammers.

Yep ! Same message from these scammers.

The EXACT same thing happened to me!  I called the number and it kept asking me to enter in my last four digits of my Social Security number, so I punched FOUR RANDOM numbers and it literally said, "Thank you for the confirmation" and that I had 24 hours to come up with $2500 or the "injunction"  against me will be double the cost in court!  When I finally got to a human being and told them that their scam was being recorded, they hung up on me and then blocked me from calling anymore.

You can report a threatening debt collector to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) or your state's attorney general. You can also file a complaint with You can file a complaint online at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or by phone at (877) 382-4357. The debt collector can be fined, at the very least.
