I got it now, her name was Jade. She just "clarified" that she was only contacting my boss at home to verify employment because they will be doing a wage attachment.  I told her sounds great, thank you much.

Its funny when you think about it that someone states "i used to work there" I can think of two people that would even look this number up and put something like that on here.  Both of those people were the worst most illegal collectors I have ever known. (why do you think they no longer work there).  They are both working doing the exact same thing saying the exact same thing (or worse if they get away with it) to get people to pay them just a different company. Probably milking the clock on the internet writing stupid comments in stupid blogs.  In fact you will find both the names on these stupid sites. I will not stoop to the pathetic level that these individuals probably sat around laughing about thinking that midgit was even spelled correctly.  Nothing bad was ever said about these individuals, even stuck up for them so many times that it makes me sad that this is the feeling that they have.   Thank you for confirming what I already knew, exactly who you really are.  Shame on you.

I there is definitely a difference between paying on a legitimate loan and paying a preditor that just wants to get rich.  NRS called me twice at work.  I called them back.  They never answered with their business name.  When I asked what company they were, one person told me NRS, another said AIG, and a third said NCA.  Three different names for the same company sounds fishy. Once I asked them for a copy of the paperwork or how they came up with the figure they said I owed them, they refused to explain this to me. One young woman even told me she didn't have a copy of my transaction history. I asked her to let me speak to her supervisor who told me they didn't have it either.  When I asked for a copy of any paperwork that would prove to me that they are who they claim to be, the supervisor raised his voice at me, and hung up on me.  So this leads me to believe that NRS is a scam.  I agree that legitimate creditors should be paid back, HOWEVER, if these people can't provide you with legitimate proof that they can accept payment on your debt, DO NOT PAY THEM!  Do not be afraid of their threats either.  Legitimate debtors do not threaten, and since debtors prison was outlawed over 100 years ago, you don't have to fear the law.  Most legitimate debt collectors will provide an efficient payment plan that can help you pay of your debt.  Anyone demanding a payment here and now is just a preditor trying to make it rich.  Be smart.  If they get mad at the idea of you requesting information, then they're scam artists.

Check to ensure they are supposed to call you. They call me with the name "Russell", as it is obvious that  this number I now have used to belong to this person. Funny enough, I used to get wierd text messages and calls from a kid when I first got the number, but they stopped sometime ago.

It is a recording, and continues.

This company is not a good company they are rude and unprofessional, I have been in collections for several years and just changed professions, i believe that if you take a loan out you should pay it back but if your unable than you should at least try to offer 20 dollars as a hardship paymnt, just make sure that you follow all the procedures, and that you try to pay something, if you try to pay something they won't do anything to you.
good luck and as a side note, langhorne is the best company to go with although some people don't tell you this but collection agency's do not have to accept debt consoludation places at all. If you get a Payday loan online please read the fine print in the terms and agreement these loans will take you for all the money they can.

you must be talking about the two 'no nothing, do nothing' family members who are the 'stars' of the office. I agree, those two are lame and should be working at some fast food place as a janitor. As far as illegal practices, if there was any substance to this claim, then you should contact the proper authorities and not bitching about it on some blog hidden in some dank dark corner of cyberspace.

And yeah, I'm sitting here rereading your post and laffing my ass off...bye

They will NOT sue you for that small balance. It would cost more than what its worth. They know they dont have a chance in hell because what their doing is illegal and dont want to get anything stirred up that would blow their cover! Your debt is not that important to them as you think, if they dnt collect they move on to the next acct. its all about the money for them. They get extravagent gifts for collecting the most money.

Oh yes they are very good at taking unauthorized withdrawls! They are as bad as the payday loan co. take funds til your bank puts it in a frozen status due to fraud! If u have the same acct u used when u got the loan, MY advice to u is change it. They have the acct info thats used when u got the loan and they WILL try to get funds from it whether u auth. it or not!

A Bonnie "Bowmer" (sp?)left a voice mail on my cell to call her at 888-622-0222 LESS THAN 1 MINUTE after they called at work and the office manager stated that employees aren't allowed personal calls. I got into the online PDL cyclone of disaster, and I don't know if this is the same CA that I just mailed a certified letter to that requested U.S. mail correspondence only. If it's the same CA, then they are in direct violation of the FDCPA!

A debt cannot be collected  by a court order. If you do not have the money, there is nothing to collect. If you don't have a job, they cannot attach your paycheck. The most a court order would do is to say "you owe the money". Now, if you came into a new job or money within a couple of years, the winning party could legally attach the money, and/or remove it from your account. If you owe money, and your future looks like it's pretty uncertain, "do not agree or pay any amount". What you are doing in essence is saying "you owe the money". For instance.. if this bill is 4 years old and they turned it over to collection, in just three years, it will be removed off of your credit history (seven years). However, if you pay just $5.00, you have opened it up to another seven years of owing it. If it is under $2,000, more than likely they will write letters, call and try to get the money but it doesn't even pay them to take the time to go to court to collect such an insignificant amount. The reason they are nasty is because that is the type of people they hire to collect debts. I used to work for a collection agency in Washington DC. When they told me to lie and tell this woman that we would go after her father to collect (which we couldn't do anyway, but my boss said, these stupid people don't know that) and this woman is in a wheel chair from an auto accident, no job, nothing... I couldn't do it, I got up and quit. My boss said, "why"? I said, because this job sucks!

It's legal for a collection agency to threaten you with legal action. They cannot, however, threaten to call your boss or something of that nature. They do step over the line often, however, remember a couple of things.. and if they call you and leave messages, even better because there is proof of how they act. They must "always" identify who they are and why they are calling. Many now, are just leaving messages saying "this is very urgent and you must call right away".. this is illegal. Keep the message, if you have the phone number on it, great. If you get two or more..even better because at this point, you no longer owe that money. They have violated Federal regulations. Get in touch with an attorney, sue them. Legal aid can often help if you can't get an attorney to take your case. Either way, you will be able to get out of owing the bill and get it removed from your credit history. All debts go away in seven years from credit history anyway. Good luck.

Question about another payday loan company..Has anyone ever gotten a loan from a company called Ace Cash Express???  I got a very nasty call from someone there last week, said his name was Mr Jackson and I had 1 hour to call them back or he was going ahead with involuntary proceedings against me..I called him back told the call was being recorded..I had one of my co-workers in the room with me to protect myself..He started yelling at me, wouldn't let me get a work in edge wise said it was past the payment or garnishment stage and he wanted payment in full that day.  I told him I didn't have it and he asked how much I did have I told him $20 he then asked me how I was getting back and forth to work and eating w/no money..He wanted me to call him back with my bank info and that he wanted payment in full on the 19th of this month..He said if I didn't take care of this then it was also no longer a civil matter, he made it sound like he would have me arrested...He also asked for my sup's name..I kept asking what his position w/the company was and he kept saying none of my business..He kept saying that when I took out the loan it was with intent to defraud..This was a store front shop where I gave them a cancelled check..I later put a stop payment on it because of a past problem with them...He kept saying intent to defraud which was a crime..Can he have me arrested??  I ended up in the hospital last week so didn't call him back w/my bank info and I have not heard from him since..I've been told by others that what he was doing was a scare tactic..Well it worked I wanted to work something out with them but he was unwilling...Any ideas on what I should do now??

Well i wouldnt worry about it. They tend to use scare tactics alot. NRS is another comp. that collects payday loans and they pretend to be a law firm!! So its mainly to try to get you to pay. They will not take you to court or sue either way. Their all A**h@@*s and will say anything especially this time of the year. I know someone that use to work at NRS and their vicious people there. I wouldnt worry to much about it. It takes a real low life to threathen people and to even do that kind of job.!
