    This company called me on my cell.  I co-signed an apartment lease with my son.  He and his roomates paid the damages last summer with a money order.  Interestingly enough the apartment complex "changed employees" and conveiniently cant' locate the payment.... I received a call from a guy named Phillip Gordon, who claimed to be an attorney.  stated he sent me a letter a month ago and since I haven't responed he sent me to collections and notified all the credit companies.  I never received any letter and he stated they by law do not have to send it registered return recipt.  HIS computer is verification enough that I was notified.  I don't have any debt!!!  Amazing that I can't even RUN from all the junk mail I get, but one letter I am supposidly to recieve, never comes.  A**holes!

    I have been receiving calls from someone named Robert. He calls a few times a day, and has called my job. When my boss told him not to call any longer, he said he could do whatever he wanted and that legal action was going to be taken against me. He said this to ..my...boss. This place is a joke and in my opinion what goes around comes around.

    If your employer tells them to no longer call, that is all that is needed, and as stated in the Fair Debt Collection practices act:

    "Any debt collector communicating with any person other
    than the consumer for the purpose of acquiring location information
    about the consumer shall—
    (1) identify himself, state that he is confirming or correcting
    location information concerning the consumer, and,
    only if expressly requested, identify his employer;
    (2) not state that such consumer owes any debt;
    (3) not communicate with any such person more than once
    unless requested to do so by such person or unless
    the debt collector reasonably believes that the earlier
    response of such person is erroneous or incomplete and
    that such person now has correct or complete location
    information;"

    and also

    "Without the prior consent of the consumer given
    directly to the debt collector or the express permission of
    a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not
    communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection
    of any debt—
    (1) at any unusual time or place or a time or place known
    or which should be known to be inconvenient to the"

    which means if they know that contacting them at their place of work is an inconvenient place or time, they cannot call, maybe debt collector companys wouldn't get sued as much if they actually read the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

    In some states it is illegal for you to record a phone call, without the consent of both parties check out the website at the end of this comment to see if you are a one or two party notification state, one party means only one person (being you)has to consent, and two party means both parties have to consent( you and the company).  look for the state law table to see which state you are.

    Just got a call from a Ben Curtis who said he had a decision to make that involved me and wanted me to call him today.  He was pleasant on the phone but there is something about people calling you with no specific information making "decisions" about you.  Since no company information was given I will not return the call.  Luckily I do not have a work number or land line at home.

    Got a call from this number and someone from "The Offices Scott Douglas" wanted me to call them back.  His extension is 1176.  He was pleasant on the phone (which is one side of his personality, I think), but I don't want to call back and get his other side (the bad-side).  I called back the number listed below and it was for PDM incorporated.  I thought it was "The Offices Scott Douglas"????  That's funny!  I googled "The offices of Scott Douglas" and this is what comes up:
    Scott A. Douglas, Attorney at Law.

    Received two calls on my cell at work this morning and my brother of all people received one from a Gary Carter. He was certainly an [***]. I didn't say I didn't want to pay my debt, I was trying to explain right now I was in a tough spot financially.

    His exact words were "I don't care about you poor, pitiful life."

    What kind of people are these? The phone call my brother got told him this was about a phone service, and I was very confused. I live with my mother right now and don't have phone service in my name. I haven't for over 7 years. But, when I called them back, "Gary" told me "this has nothing to do with any phone, when are you going to pay this bill, or would you like to be sued?'

    That was three calls in two hours. I don't understand what's going on, but when I get home from work. I will hunt that cease and desist letter. Thanks for that advice.

    threatening
    PDM Inc. called my parents and my mother answered.  She told me this "gentleman" (using that term loosely) was rude and threatening.  He told her that it had to do with work (I'm currently un-employed so my mom knew he was not from my old job!) which was a lie.  Anyhow I am done even trying to make right with them.  They are the most un-profesional company ever.  Don't be intimidateed.

    I receive voicemails on my work phone about once every two weeks for someone else to "please return the call".  I can barely understand the lady; I'm not even sure she's leaving her name or company name.

    it is illegal for a debt collector to call you employer or your cell or you at work if you tell them specifically not to.  it normally can be handled by stating that fact to them.  we just started getting calls from Mark Seabrook at this company yesterday.  My husband got 6 calls from him this morning on his cell while he was at work.  I called him and told him if he called either of our cells, or either of us during work hours again, i would sue him for harassment.  I just talked to an attorney (I'm a paralegal) and he confirmed exactly what I just said.

    This company has called and harassed me calling my family members and telling me that I'm in trouble and that I have a warrant for my arrest for a loan that I owe 364.36 and now they want the money so I'm making a payment of 70.00
