paying debtor replies to dumb [***]
I don't get the point, if you owe someone, they will demand payment. A collections agency is basically the middle man, they are not customer service, they are attempting to collect a debt that we as consumers failed to pay. Of course we won't be happy about being contacted because we failed to commit to our moral obligations.  Basically, pay your bill and the calls will stop. These companies cant survive with dead beats like us going into their business to take out a loan and feel like it was free money.

I am a credit counselor and no collector is to ever call your work unless you give them permission!!! If they do make sure you collect evidence (voice recorder, receptionist call slip, people who they have spoken to(witnesses) and they are to never threaten you in any way or speak to anyone regarding your informations or you can sue the pants off of them!!! And I'm sorry obviously you are a collector you are a bottom feeder who feeds off people's hard times and I'm sorry but big companies get bail outs so should the little guy even if that means forcing collectors to prove debts.... So get off your high horse you can't act like you haven't ever owed anyone money... And if you never have your would be rich and wouldn't have to bottom feed and be a collector....

I stopped answering calls from 800 numbers a few years ago.  Now my parents are getting calls from these guys about a debt I owe.  My father just got a message on HIS work line about it yesterday.  What is with these people?  Now my father is worried that his credit will be affected.  As far as I know the only connected debts I have with him are my school loans, which he is already paying.  How do these people even know how to contact or who my parents are??

    Harassed replies to Miss Murder
I'm in the same boat.  These people are now calling my parents, even at their work numbers, trying to get money from me.  My dad is now getting nervous that somehow his credit will be affected by these people.  I don't know what to tell him.  I don't intend to call these collection people, especially after reading this forum. But I'm not sure what else to do about it all.  What sort of action can you take to stop them calling??

Mr. Steve King called my husbands work phone and left a message saying this was very important and that serious actions would be taken if he did not return the call. I called back and asked about the call made to us. Mr. King said that the apartment complex (Etowah Village) had placed a account for collection to them. I then told Mr. King that I was filling a law suit against the apartment complex for being dirty and scamming folks. That they get you to sign a contract and tell you that once moved in all the issues I had with the apartment would be addressed, well after 4 months of complaining when the issues were still not taken care of, a new manager was hired. Then at 6months (1/2 of our lease) they tell us they are not going to fix the problems with the apartment. Plus, the bugs were awful, I called the health department! I have a child, 3yrs old, I'm not going to say in a infestation. That's what I told Mr. King and that I was going to sue the apartment complex. I have pictures and videos and emails that show them saying they would take care of the issues. I also have pictures and videos of the roaches having eggs and babies in my dishwasher, cabinets, and sink. Yuk! And the icing on the cake was when the complex sent me a fake court document showing they filed a suit against me. I went to the court house and they took a copy and said they would address the complex for using their documents! Then Mr. King got upset and told me unless I could give him a name and number right then, that he was just going to continue to call. I asked for the address there. Mr. King asked why, and I told him this was my husbands work # and I'm sending a Cert. Letter to cease and desist contact from this number and Mr. King hung up on me. His extension was 1541.

    Not My Debt
I've never taken out any kind of payday loan and have no debt. Yet I keep getting calls from these people. Apparently they lost track of the person that defaulted on a debt and now they are cold calling everyone in the same town that are unfortunate enough to have the same name. They try their best to convince you that you are the one that owes money. It appears that until they are actually sure they have the right person, they're not allowed to reveal any information about the debt. They are fishing for information and now I throw their silly evasion tactics back at them. It'd almost be entertaining if it wasn't so annoying. So, over and over, we play the little phone games, the conversation ends with 'ok, I'll mark this phone # as incorrect', and two days later I get another call from the same company - but a different person. I suppose I'll finally pony up the money for caller id so I can at least ignore phone calls from the Jacksonville, FL area code.

VERY ANGRY replies to YOU'RE ALL WRONG
I think it is more like you and people like you that have no morals. People have been harassing me for a year over a payday loan that has been paid back plus some, threatening to call my employer, do this, do that. Now they are talking about statute of limitations running out. Not!!! What that means is the statute of limitations has run out for them!!! You and all collectors like you are scum of the universe and crooked as a 2 dollar bill. It will be a cold day in H-E-L-L before PDM will ever get a dime more from me. Because of them trying to make unauthorized automatic deductions my checking account was closed by my bank and they will not reopen it. Grrrrrrrrrrrr, don't even get me started. Just as the contracts people sign wave the right to legal action, it does for you folks too so shut the hell up!!
