    Received a Letter from AMT
I am so very glad that I looked into this letter that I received further.  I appreciate all of the posts above.  I am shredding the letter!!!!

The letter that I got was from "Mortgage Auditing Program" and they gave me the number (888)716-9582 to call.  When I called to see what the letter/offer was all about they gave me the website:  AMTDivision.org
I of course looked up the website and the number (888)681-9902 was there but not the other.  So I went on the BBB and what I was told to look up was just for some type of software not a Mortgage Auditing Company.  So then I googled and found this website and posts.  Thank you for all of your help and input.

BTW, I hope you are aware that when you bought the AMT audit, you're were also signed up for a negative-option, 30-day free trial of the 30to8 Debt Software that will begin charging $49.95/month unless you take positive action to cancel the subscription within the free period. The free trial automatically turns into a live subscription at the end of the free period and unless you cancel in time, you will be charged.

Anonymous, I have noticed an increased flaming tone in your ongoing posts.

May I suggest that you not devalue your well researched information and useful guidance by demeaning your posts.

I for one very much appreciate your posts, but you are losing my respect. Stick to what you are good at and avoid the presumptuous flaming.

    Thanks!

Have been considering your feedback. Netiquette prescribes civil, no-flame discussion -- no problem here. Problem is, shills are abusing the trust of their prospective victims by posting civil, no-flame comments that do not violate 800notes' TOS, to further their financial crimes. This interaction is not the ordinary, civil, human-to-human discourse one expects in public life. One side of this conversation has a hidden agenda to gain the trust of prospective victims in order to steal their hard-earned money, not with gun or knife, but with civil, no-flame, artfully-crafted words, lies, deceit, trickery and the like. This is criminal behavior no different from robbers pushing a lady down, grabbing her bag and fleeing. Shill posts do not deserve civility any more than bag snatchers do. It's silly to impose netiquette willy nilly on replies to shill posts without considering the underlying criminal nature of the shill posts being responded to. However, I do agree my recent posts have been a tad strident and thanks to your feedback, I'll try to do better but cannot agree with your universal non-flame policy. If this makes me a presumptuous flamer of shills, then so be it. Will you ask Madoff's victims to remain civil to him after having been psychologically raped and robbed blind, but civilly so, by his deceit? I will not for doing so only adds insult to injury. Will you?

Thanks for the insight.  I thought from the letter it was a scam, after reading these, I KNOW it is a scam.  Funny all the positives use the "win/win" line - obviously all written by the same person/group.

I also just received the letter today  and called them.  I talked to Tim McGaffin and was told it would cost me 249.00 for them to perform the audit and that it would be totally guaranteed because they would use my credit card, with a guarantee that I do qualify for the refund.  I checked this site and I'm very happy I did.  He actually told me to check with the BBB and I did which showed no complaints - however- if they change their names and have an unsecured http website - they have to be gogus....  Thanks everyone for your help and assistance.  Saved me lots of $s I don't have.

    their website is amtdivision.org
    phone # is:  888-659-2077
    My bank is Chase

I got the same letter, but the phone number listed on my letter is 888.659.2077.  Interesting they have different numbers.  This smells SCAM.

I received the same letter today, phone number (888-659-2077).
The 1st time that I called the number, the gal on the other end hung up when I told her that I didn't feel comfortable giving my credit card info, over the phone, to some oufit that I know nothing about.
Being either extremely curious or extremely stupid,  I called again and got some guy (Collin) who was a much better salesman. He told me that I could pay by check, but the entire process (search  / results / refund) would take much longer.
This "might be" on the up and up, but I don't feel comfortable enough to jump into it @ this time.

Did you read this thread in full? I hope you did not because if you did, I don't see how anyone can come to any other conclusion except that this is a scam. This fake company uses LLC in its company name when it's only a DBA in reality, uses unregistered DBA company names, uses the Wells Fargo bank logo without permission, has changed company names in midstream with the BBB, etc. Colton Moody has 1 settled and 1 pending Government Action against his old company The Summit Group of Utah LLC whose modus operandi was to offer coaching seminars for $thousands up front and allegedly failing to deliver -- google it for yourself. Alarms bells should be ringing loudly, no way this ""might be" on the up and up."

I checked y'all out on BBB.  You do not have a Tripe A rating.  I feel ripped off.  Attempted to call Jason Guymon to let you know I do not answer phone calls that do identify themselves and if YOU have done me wrong - you are in big trouble.

I've posted lots of good stuff on this scam on page 1 of this thread and suggest you read through it if you haven't already. Are you aware that when you bought the audit, you were also signed up for a negative option, 30-day free trial of the $49.95/month 30to8 Debt Software? It's not clear if canceling the audit automatically also cancels the free trial. My guess is it won't which means if you don't take positive action to cancel the free trial, you will be billed $49.95/month. Here is the 30to8 cancellation policy from my last visit http://30to8.com/ActionPlan/cancellation.html  "Cancellations can be requested via email at debtapp@amtdivision.org or by calling our Customer Support number at 888.721.0370. If a cancellation request has been made after the 30 day free trial then the customer will be able to continue to use the software until the end of their monthly subscription ends." You should go and read the actual currently-posted Cancellation Policy in case it has changed since my visit. Note the specific email address or phone number that must be used for cancellation. Best of luck getting a refund on the audit. If you have trouble getting refunded, contact the Utah Division of Consumer Protection http://www.consumerprotection.utah.gov/  They know all about Colton Moody (registered business owner of AMT Auditing Services LLC doing business as Mortgage Auditing Program) http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/fore ... ork-ut-22302183 and his old company The Summit Group Of Utah LLC http://www.bbb.org/utah/business-reviews/trai ... ehi-ut-13002802 that has an F rating with the BBB.

Received a letter today.  Called and got the pitch about autiding my mortgage.  I'm smart enough to know that scams are happening everywhere so decided to do some research.  Before finding this website I looked up AMTdivision on the BBB website.  Found that Colton Moody is the manager and was the manager of a different business that had 135 complaints to the BBB.  I found there were citations given and then the company disolved in 2009.  ATM started in 2010 with Moody as it's manager.  There is no way in the world I would get involved with a founder of a business who seemed to scam people for years causing so many complaints to the BBB who in turn gave him an F rating.

I found it funny too in reading through this site the amount people were told they would be charged for their mortgage audit.  It seems that different people were told different amounts.  Do they go by how much money they think someone has or how do they determine which price they are giving who?  I say RUN, don't walk!

I was told it would cost me 199.99.  I noticed other's have said they would be charged 149.99.  So there are 3 different prices floating around.

This is all very sad.  I was excited when I got the letter, but I knew it was too good to be true.  They want $249 from me to do the audit. Never mentioned anything about software. He also said they've been in business for 6 years. I told "Rex" that I would call back when I decided.  So now that I've read all these posts I can't believe that this is not a scam.  I've only heard one person say they got a refund.  Never said how they got it and it was only a few hundred dollars. I don't trust this alleged company.  I'm going to call back and kill them with questions and see what happens.  But I won't be giving them any money!!
