May have been SCE. But will not answer calls when not identified.

Got a message stating a power outage will be done in my area tomorrow. No advance notice at all.
Called and woman from edison stated above info was true.

It is Southern California Edison, as reported above.  There is a scheduled power outage this weekend for my neighborhood and I suspect it is a courtesy call reminding residents.  BUT what I don't understand is why they block their real caller I.D. and why they don't leave a message.  ANNOYING!

Yea there is Dumb Ass. Its called updating equiment. Technology evolves! Maybe in your world u still live under a rock! Get a clue!!

It's warning of a local service outage, like when they are digging up the street or repairing a switch.  IThat's important for those folks on a respirator or such.

They have called twice today but they do not respond after saying "hello" several times. After looking at some of these post, I am sure it is Edison; My neighborhood is schedule for a power outage for maintainance.

I'm in Boston.  Why would Southern Cal Edison be calling me?

Got a call from this number from SCE to remind me of scheduled power outage. They had to replace the pole on the corner that was cracked, so yes there is sometimes reason idiot.

Just re-confirming that this 888 number is Southern CA Edison (electrical utility provider) per their "Planned Power Outage Notification" postcard that was mailed to my residence last week.   The SCE dialer apparently will not leave a message until it hears a voice answering.  It called me at least 4 times today for our scheduled outage tomorrow.

This is so annoying.I got called 3 times in 1 minute.
During a recent outage, I had signed up for a notification when the power came back on.
It's good to know it's Edison, but with no message and no caller ID, I'm not about to answer. Annoying.

No message. ID shows TOLL FREE CALLER.
Here's the catch: I don't live in an area of SCE service. Four hang-ups within 3.5 hours.

CAREFUL! It's not SCE!!! It's a scam trying to get ID info from you! Seriously, I couldn't imagine the power company calling me on the phone for a scheduled power outage.

When I picked up the call,
the voice was chattering away in Spanish.
I don't speak or understand Spanish.

Listen up stupid SCE...I don't answer the phone.  Learn to leave a detailed message so that you can show you are being a responsible company in shutting our electricity off...power grid upgrade my foot...I don't believe it for a second.  

you people above.....yeah you.  It is not a prank call. We already got the postcard STATING there would be a power upgrade to the grid in our area and for those of us with back up supply to warn them so they don't get the shock of their life.  It is legit.  It is a courtesy call but I still wont answer phone thanks to all the stupid telemarketers.

It is so simple to leave a message through these automated calls, I don't understand why SCE doesn't just leave a message.  Automated calling campaigns can be set to leave messages, even if robotic voice or real voice, come on SCE................
