Southern California Edison calling to alert me of an all day power outage in my area.

I received 2 no-message calls from this number in 4 hours.  I tried calling them back. Verizon tells me that the number has been disconnected.  So I doubt it is really SoCal Edison.  Besides, I'm not an Edison customer!!

Taking the hint that it is a SoCal Edison phone call (and that Verizon is screwed up - which happens), I called Edison directly and found that someone gave my phone number as theirs (or a transcription error has occurred). .... mystery solved

Like Cindy!  I never answer those calls, and they are mostly Phishing....I did receive notice that my power would be out, but there was a fata error in the notice; instead of 5 hours outage they specified 29 hours! That I suppose was the reason for the call.
They have called me also twice today, but again, if they just left a message, that would clear things up and
they wouldn't have to continue calling.

I called the number. It really is SoCal Edison. I received notification of a planned outage via postcard 2 weeks ago, and there was a 6 digit number on the back of the card. There is an option, when you call Edison, to check on planned outages in your area, and if you enter the 6 digit number at the prompt you'll get an update. They also said that you can check while the work is being done to get an update on the projected finish time. This is one of the very few times I've gotten a phone call from an unknown number that didn't turn out to be some kind of BS. It would have been nice if Edison had left a short message announcing themselves and saying why they were calling, but it all worked out.

A call from this toll-free number arrived today.  When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message.  Ordinarily, I would conclude this is probably an illegal telemarketer.  However, the other day a postcard from Southern California Edison arrived to announce the power would be out for up to 8 hours, starting tomorrow, in order to perform maintenance upgrades.  Consequently, I conclude the caller was "probably" SCE to remind me of this fact.  Only "probably," since there was no recorded message.

if they would at least leave a voice mail identifying who they are and what information they need to report, they would have to call so many times. I bet somebody at Edison totally screwed up by not programming to leave voice mails. haha that poor sap.

Another call from this toll-free number arrived today, less than 2 months since the last call on March 28.  When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message.  The behavior is customary of robocallers (illegal telemarketers) who use automated dialers to place calls.

Came on this site checking to see if anyone else got these calls. I'm blocking it anyway. I don't care who it's from, if it says TOLL FREE CALL and there's no message each and every time, then it's going to be blocked--no exceptions.

$umhow, $umone has used my celll # as the contact for SCE...I called SCE direct to let them know I don't have a SCE acct & we relocated over TWO years out of the STATE of California.

Took awhile to get a live person but hopefully It's nipped in the bud!

It's SCE. They will keep calling until you pick up. You have to say hello to start the recorded message. My call was about a possible outage (which I learned after the 3rd call).

Definitely So Cal Edison robocall re a planned outage.

Glad I checked.  I was about to block it.  I don't get why the caller ID for this is "800 Service", instead of something helpful like "SCE"
