- The Boss replies to [***] Business Owner| 2 repliesI was contacted by I beleave Josh back in January 2009. He told me about being in business for 10 years. He also used Bill Gates Foundation to me as an example of how a foundation works. I have contacted the Bill and Linda Gates Foundation and they told me that they Are not affiliated with NFA at all. They do not work with third party grant writting companies or intermediary organizations of this kind. I do not know why they would use ther name if they do not have them as one of there foundations that grant money.I have also talk to Dominic.I did not bring the Gates foundation up to him,but did not know why Josh had told me other things about the company.I have filled out my application but have not sent in.I do know with me they have not been pushy, but maybe because I have not sent the app. in yet. I just wish they would give name of some companies that received these Grants that are local to me so I could go there and talk to them about it. They tell me they can not advertise or give out names. I think I will file the app. in my now 1/2 " folder that I have got from printing up info on this.
- nikki| 5 repliesI recieved a recorded message about grants and i followed up with the company. they said that it was possible for me to obtain a grant for my small business. I was skeptical because they were asking for a deposit before i recieved anything. I decided to go on with the process and give it a chance. I did in fact recieve around $103,000 in grants from a variety of diffrent foundations, for my small lollipop craft store. I was quite suprised. I am actually looking at joining for a second year, Because it helped my business out enormously. It did take about 8 months to recieve the full amount though. so if your looking to join be patient.

- Worker replies to The BossFirst of all, it's Bill and Melinda. And they are one of the huge foundations that grants money to small business owners. Go to www.foundations.org and see for yourself. Second of all, they DON'T advertise. They are not allowed to. It is a way to receive tax incentives and if they advertised, they would have every Tom Dick and Harry trying to get an app. They only fund qualified businesses that meet their very strict guidlines.
- Recently Approached replies to nikkiAs a satisfied client do have any objections to being personally contact to verify you are who you say you are and not just a promoter for the company. Perhaps you can give your web page address. It seems that the few people stating they received what they were told they would receive all leave out that one convincing piece of evidence, their web page.
- Recently Approached replies to The BossIf you uncover any helpful information please post it. I think it is important to keep the postings up to date so people have info relevant to the present. The States' Attorney office stated they had calls about the company and referred them to the Consumers Protection Agency which had no complaints to date, however they said that their records are several months behind.
- Grant Writer replies to Billy V| 1 replyI'm a grant writer myself and it is a very time consuming, tedious process. You have to know what you are doing(have experience) and even I don't work for free. $3000 for a business plan, 5 page website, and the grant writing is a very good deal.
- Jenny-Woody's Construction Inc. replies to JD| 1 replyI to have fell to this scam. I have had the run around since 8-28-08. Every time I called to speak to Dustin he stated my check for $2,1650.00 had not cleared the bank. I had to prove it four times over. They also stated the had just received my welcome packed in December, when in fact I never mailed them the welcome packet. They stated they would mail me a refund of $1,000.00, the check after a month never showed up. We just talked to a Robert Shapiro 3/30/09 who is in the legal department and he could not even verify our address where he had mail a check to. Then the owner of Woody's contacted the company and asked to speak to the manager and got Robert, who stated he was legal service for NFA. he stated he would try and get us 1/2 of our money back. Now after reading further into this sight, I will take this to the next level. I will find others who have been scammed by this company and will get our money back. If you to have been scammed email codeblueross@yahoo.com.
- Lorie replies to not dumb enoughI almost fell into this scam. I never sent these guys any money. they do try and guilt you into it by telling you that they spent time on this grant already and never did a dam thing. When I told them I was not going to go through with this they hung up on me. THIS IS A SCAM. We all should go after them they are nothing but scum bags. Anything that was said good about them was from there own people. There is more people that have been scamed through this company. Don't worry they will try to scam the wrong person and get what is coming to them. NFA get a real job!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Bob replies to Vento| 31 repliesDo you know for sure or is it just a hunch you have?
- PATRICK replies to LarryThey did contact us in San Diego as well. Beginning stage, they have not told us what the fees would be yet. The old saying is probably still true today "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is"
- Vento replies to Jenny-Woody's Construction Inc.I have also been scammed by this skumbag company, sent them 2500 in November 2008, , they have done nothing to this point, wont even answer calls, they should be put in jail
- the real truth teller replies to Well In The Processi think that this is hilarious because i am the one who wrote in as truth teller and i am NOT a former employee (thank god) i could never make a living stealing peoples money for commission but what i have said is definetly the truth so if u want to believe a bunch of con artists go ahead... i know its easy ... its their job but if u have any brains at all u will realize that all of the comments on here talking about how nfa really works are all nfa employees writing about themselves to get gullible people to send in their money...
- curious replies to Regretful in San Antonioi would like the info to contact a henderson compliance officer because i have enough info to get this co shut down
- Canecorso replies to nikki| 1 replyIf you did indeed recieve the grant money. What is the name of your business and location? If you recieved a grant, I have no problem with myself and my crew flying to where you are and meet in a public place to discuss your dealings with NFA for what can further my grant and everyone elses. Better yet, why don't we meet at NFA in their office in Henderson, NV to discuss the progress on people's grants. If NFA is as big as they are, a couple of 1st class plane tickets to meet in person should be nothing, or can be written off as an extra cost to NFA. We don't like to be scammed at all or [***]. I sure hope we see this grant that has been promised to us with in the next 30 days or I guess my crew and I will be flying out to Vegas to discuss our grant in person.
- T in Pa replies to Frank Powers| 5 repliesDear Frank Powers,
I spoke with you a few days ago about out Grant. You were going to look into it for me and you told me to call you back if I didn't hear anything. Remember when you called me in December 08 and I signed up Dec. 22nd and you had my check picked up by Federal Express?? Frank I must say you were one of the nicest men I ever spoke to on the phone, but since then NOTHING has gone right. From NFA loosing everything we ever sent them to every excuse in the book including today a threatening phone call from Mr. Robert Shapiro. He was annoyed because I sent the Henderson police out to your business address to find out if you really existed, in turn Mr. Robert, Dusty or whoever Mr. Shapiro is called me and asked me how would I like it if he sent the police to my place of business in a threatening manner. It is all clear to me now..Michael Jones called me to tell me yesterday also that they could not work on my grant because things have changed. I asked for my $2500 back and he said he would see how much they could refund me. That is when I sent the police to see if NFA really existed, I have been harrassed bitterly by your company, I believed in you, Mike Jones, John Goldberg, Alex Gray and everyone else at NFA. I think the key was we already have a great website and we didn't need one, as for the business plan, my husband and I spent hours almost 100 putting together the information NFA needed to write our grant request. In summation your company sent us a letter giving us the name of 5 foundations they were going to solicit for our grants..we had to sign off on this document and send it back by fax, your company said they never received it, I mailed it also, guess what, they finally received it. I called all of the grant foundations today and none of those foundation give grants to small businesses. So when Mr. Shapiro called me today to harrass me about calling the police to check out NFA's address I told him I called all the foundations to find NFA sending solicitation letters to foundations that have asked them to stop asking for money for small businesses because they do not donate to small businesses. You have to admit we are a victim of something, but I am not sure of what yet. If your business does do certain services, then why string someone along for a long period of time and then tell them "Sorry we can't help you any longer, and maybe I can get you some money back" quote Michael Jones on 4/16/09 yesterday. My heart sunk because we have been doing everything possible to keep our business afloat, mortgaged our home, used credit cards (they are all maxed out now thankyou) all in believing you were really going to produce some grant money for us. I have trouble believing you were not sincere in your efforts, and high hopes promises for our business, that truly Frank makes me ill. Your company can do good work and make money, why on earth are you making false promises to only give people false hope. And to think you always say, thank you for trusting NFA and GOD Bless you. Do you remember what I said back to you?
I said "Thank you so much Frank for helping us and GOD bless you too. That was December 22nd, what a great Christmas present..it is too bad it didn't work out because I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND THE FURTHER DEBT WE HAVE GOTTEN INTO BELIEVING IN THE HOPE THAT "NATIONAL FINANCIAL ADVISORS" WERE GOING TO KEEP THEIR WORD, and our family owned and operated business by a Veteran of the United States Navy who gets up every morning at 6 a.m. and goes into his quarry and works alone because we cannot afford to bring our workers back from unemployemnt because our working capitol "grant money" is never coming to fruition. Depressed is not the word I would describe how I feel about National Financial Advisors. I feel ashamed of myself for believing in NFA.
For all of you people out there that have taken the time to read my letter to Frank Powers, all of it is true, I am from Pennsylvania, we do own a quarry, we were desperate and do need the grant money, but you know what we will keep going forward until we can't go anymore, and we will remember this negative experience for as long as we live.
Sincerely, Tina Holbert (jholbert@myway.com) I am not afraid to disclose my identity. Everything I have stated is the truth. - mark replies to Robert Steinbergi really hope this company is sincere. i look forward to them helping me.

markmacdaniel@yahoo.com - bella| 2 repliesI have been harassed by Frank Powers, from National Financial Advisors, he claimed that I "wasted his God-given time and freedom" because I didn't go along with his scam. He left multiple nasty phone messages, as well as hanging up on my business partner. He then left a scathing message when she called him on his phone manners! Don't do this, they just want your money up front, when I said I didn't have the money, that is when he hung up! DON'T DO THIS, DON'T DO THIS, SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
