I do do business Charter. They were rated in the top 10 worst company to do business with. I told them calling me 2-3 times a day is harashment. You can turn them in to the FCC. Also put your number on the national don't call list.  They maybe doing what ATT did, they sent out fake bill so people would call them.  To get around the don't call list. Hope that helps.

My bill is current and I STILL get calls from them everyday - the voice message left by the robot NEVER identifies itself, and just say "call us back about a VERY important matter" like one of your relatives died. Annoying. I started paying $100 per month for their 100MB internet service about a year ago and am about to cancel it - it has never even come CLOSE to reaching 100MB through wifi or a cable (averages more like 25-30MB) even after numerous service calls and technicians. What a rip off... since they have us pretty much monopolized (ATT is even WORSE believe it or not) I guess they can treat us how they want to.

Bought a new house and had Charter internet installed. Three weeks later I get a bill with PAST DUE in big, red letters on it. Two days after that I get a notice that it will be sent to collections. Haven't even had service for a month and am being billed for three months! They just lost a customer!

I have NEVER had an account with these people. Got my new cell# in March or April and they constantly call me. Have told them TWICE that they have a wrong number. Last time I spoke to them was 48 hours ago and SIX times they have called again. I have contacted an attorney. Absurd!

These exact thing just happened to me. Barely a month of service, I received no bills (even though customer service says I should have since they show they arrived in my town). All I received was a temporary shut off notice with an extra $20 tagged onto the past due. Because of their screw up, I'm now a month behind because the lady said they want us paying a month ahead. Uhm...not how it worked a 6 months ago when we had charter under my room mate's name! WTH!!

I've been texted, called several times by different numbers. Thanks you FCC you scumbags for opening up our phone numbers to anyone and everyone!

Called here every day 2 or 3 times a day. Finally called the number back and after getting through the bot, I was told my telephone number was listed with a different account that was past due and subject to disconnection. I asked them what number they had associated with my account and they said it was all 3's. Their system scrambled customer data or someone hacked their system, extracted my phone number and started an account and didn't pay their bill. It was funny when the real person finally came on the line and kept telling me I wasn't giving her correct information for the account, but when I gave her my real account number, not just my phone number, she looked it up and found out everything was exactly as I told her, except my phone number was all 3's. Talk about a change of attitude. You trust these people with your SS#?

Granted, paying my cable bill on time is not a huge priority for me (but it always gets paid).  They didn't used to care quite so soon as they now do, and apparently, they care a lot.  Taylor Johnson called 9 times yesterday.  I'm not sure on today's count.  I would think that leaving one message would suffice.  This borders on harassment.  How come a bill collector is only allowed to call you once in a day, but you can be automatically dialed repeatedly?  Then, should you wish to pay them by phone, you have to deal with probably the worst phone system I've ever had the displeasure of using ("I'm sorry.  I didn't get that").

Charter sucks.  I pay for color bars.  Cable should not be a monopoly.

write charter a certified letter were as they will have to sign for and explain to them that you DO NOT have ANY of there services and the to STOP CALLING MY # (000)-000-0000 if they continue to call and do not erase your number  off there call list  SUE THEM AND THIS IS LEGAL. Remember whom ever number they are calling has to send this letter and sign there name.

I believe this is a scam that someone is running under Charter's name.  I have Charter internet at home and at the office, with auto pay setup. But once in a while I'll get a call saying that my bill is past due and they can take care of it if I give them my credit card number.  I contacted Charter after one of these calls and they said its not from them.

It's NOT legal.  Once you've told them to stop calling you - even if you're the one with the past due bill - they have to stop calling you (and only contact the one with the bill via mail).  If they don't it's against Federal Law and you can go after them for it.
