- NunYaBiznesSeems legit. Got a missed call 30 minutes after I added my citi credit card to android pay.
- Caller: Citibank/Citicards
- DbsLegit. Tried paying auto insurance over phone using Macy's AMEX as I'd done for many years. This time the Mercury Bill Pay System said my credit card company would not allow this type of payment. Less than 10 minutes after getting off the phone with Mercury I received a call from CITI. They asked for me by name and said they were calling about my attempted transaction with Mercury. They knew the exact amount. Fraud prevention as I use my card infrequently. They apologized and said to call Mercury again and my charge would go thru.
- Caller: CITI

- Steve replies to Barbara| 2 repliesIt's a legit credit card company part of the fraud department and they don't ask for any information they send you a text and you give them that number
- Steve replies to KateThey are one in the same this number and the fraud department citi handles quite a lot of cards and they call to clear up fraudulent activity so you will keep using the card
- RicoLeft msg for a different person claiming they were from a fraud dept trying to verify home depot credit card. Problem is, i don't have a home depot CC. 2, the name they left on the VM is not mine. They left a #to call back, along w a reference #. Ignored the call.
- Anna replies to BarbaraI was on the phone with HD security division this morning and they needed to call me back for verification and this is the number that came up on my caller ID. When I answered it was indeed the same person I had been speaking with from HD security division.
- ItsJunkI have a Citi card and have been recently contacted by them about potential fraudulent activity. This is not how they operate. They leave a message. They also send me a text and an e-mail and if I don't respond quickly my card stops working.
This number did not leave a message. If you're unsure about whether a phone message from someone claiming to be Citi (or any other bank that you actually do business with), call the number you know is legit. If there's a fraud alert on your account Citi (and most likely the others) will direct your call straight to the fraud department.
And then they'll ask about specific charges. Did you make this purchase for this amount at this merchant? They'll probably ask you about recent legitimate charges too, in my experience.
And a few reports said this was claimed to be from Macy's American Express. I've never had a Macy's or an AmEx card. These huge financial companies don't change their phone numbers often if ever. Why would they? Of course with spoofing, the number mean very little,
Apparently the fraudsters are on this site claiming it's legit Citi fraud department. That's a lie. Call the number on your bill or on the back of your credit/debit card. - MikeThis is a legit number. It was from the Shell gasoline company. My wife and I have Shell cards, and she was travelling and had just used the card. I had already called them and notified them about her travel plans.
- Caller: Shell
- mike replies to BarbaraSo true,,,everyone saying that it is legit,is part of the scam..They come on this site to tell people its LEGIT..SMH.....LOL
- jsweiI had posted a private message on the CITI Bank site about a new credit card and said to call me after 9 AM the next day. At 9:15 I got a call from this number saying they were from the Citi bank social media department. So, I expect this was legitimate. I had subsequently cleared the issue using their online site so I did not call back
- Caller: citi bank social media

- JohnGot a call from Tiffany about a CiTi card suspicious activity. They left a four digit code and said call this number or the number on the back of the card. Number was 904-954-1207. Easy to know it was a scam as i don't have any CiTi bank issued cards of any kind!
- Caller: CiTi
- LisaCaller ID says Citi
They hung up tho . - DBDubya replies to SteveThere is no way this is a legit company. Please!! If they are with the company they say they are, they should already have the credit card number and should not be requesting that information.
