Called my cell - said it was AirMiles Canada and that I had won 250,000 airmiles and to press 1 to collect. I hung up. Airmiles doesn't have my cell number.

Just got a call from this number. Recording said I won 250,000 air miles and to press 1 to claim it. Didn't press 1 though as I figured it had to be a scam. I don't even collect air miles!

This is a scam. I just got the call (again!) a few minutes ago. I checked the Air Miles website and right on the first page is the paragraph:

"AIR MILES does not use an automated message to notify Collectors they have won reward miles. Protect your Personal Information. Never give your AIR MILES Collector Account number or PIN in response to a telemarketing call."

My answering machine picked up and the voice on the other end was already in the middle of some recorded message ... all I heard was something about 50,000 Rewards Miles before it asked me to press 1 to accept.  After doing nothing the number just disconnected after a few seconds.  Interesting as someone above posted something about airmiles and I just happened to be logged into the Airmiles website yesterday.  I didn't do anything there besides log in and view their items you can trade your points in for.  I logged out without ordering anything so it may be some how connected to Airmiles.

Less than 20 minutes since the last commenter got their call.

This is an air miles promotion.  How do I stop them from calling me?

Got this call on our shaw phone at home (Alberta). We don't collect airmiles, but because we are such good customers we have won some airmiles. These outfits are crazy making.The list of numbers beside our phone under the heading: DO NOT ANSWER is getting longer. Is there no relief from this harassment?

Yes, I'v had some calls from 1 905 917 8989, I do not want to be bothered by these people and would really appreciate it if the calls could be stopped. Thank You very much.

Got a call at 8am didn't answer-thinking they might call back-was hoping it was a win but thinking this is a 100% SCAM

I just got a call as well.  I decided to press one and listen to his spiel.  They wanted to sell me a vacation in Cancun & Orlando for $700.  When it came time to give my credit card # I hung up.  Don't know if it's a scam, but won't take the chance

Good for you! If they offered me that price, I probably would've taken it.  But they offered me Cancun + Orlando for $700 - and I don't really want to go to Orlando that much.  Please come back and tell us how everything went :)

Just called my cell and I did not answer.  Left no message.  When I called the number back, the message stated that the phone number was not in service.  Probably another scam.

I had the same thing happen. Phone rang. Hung up after 3 rings. No message.
When I returned the call it said the number was out of service.

I did recieve a call a while ago.....my mom answered the phone ..saying we won 250 000 dollars...sure enough it was a scam.....cause I told her to hang up....i check the number later on...what do you know...it is a scam..lol..cause we never applied anything to won any prizes on the sites..lol

So, now we know what you do for a living.  You're the guy calling us.  And a liar as well.  Get into a legit job; like cleaning out horse stalls; your're qualified; you've been shoveling sh*t for a while, yeah?

Just answered the call 4 mins. ago. Said the same thing, AirMiles whatever then I hung up. Annoying scammers.
