I got an unsolicited call from this number saying that I had won 250,000 air miles. I hung up.

Just call my cell phone and said I had won 250,000 Airmiles and to press 1 to claim. I hung up.

Same call on my cell# no message and I never answer any long distance phone numbers on my cell

they just called me at work, how did they get my work##.???

Has anyone contacted Air Miles to report this scam? I just got the call too but didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number.

Unfortunately I have picked it up because it was my company's mobile phone. I just got this number for less than 1 month. A recorded message said they were some company (MIF, MFI or whatever) and I won a prize. I hung up and didn't bother what would happen.

I have the call but I don't know what it is.

i answered the number adn it told me I won 250000 airmiles points adn to stand by then a guy comes on and asks for my credit card to process my FREE trip   ya right... I reported this to TELUS last night and today I got the same call on my other cell.

I'm in Vancouver and just got a call from this number with an automated message saying I won 25,000 Aeroplan miles. Didn't press anything and the call automatically disconnected. Guessing it was a scam of some sort.

Hi ... I'm a Rogers subscriber so the theory that it's Telus doesn't apply.
Interestingly, they keep calling my young daughters phone - not mine. I've added this number to the blocked number list.

They called me 4 times today. i'm a rogers customer in British Columbia.Never answered as like most when my personal cell is called. don't know you therefore don't want to talk to you.

YUP got a call from this number today!!!! What a scam. I think the majority of us now are well aware to not answer press 1 or do anything but hang up.

It's not just Telus phones. I'm on Bell Mobility and I just had this number call. They also called me last year when I was on SaskTel (different number) and have called my home phone (Vonage). The message that was left was clipped, but it sounded like they were asking a question like "press 1 to accept charges". Be on your guard against scams like these. It would be nice if the phone companies took customer satisfaction seriously and stopped providing telephone service to companies with this kind of racket. It wouldn't stop them, but it might slow them down a little.

Still, the bottom line is, just like for emails, if you don't recognize the number, don't answer it. And anybody who has charges made as a result of voicemail answering the call should NOT be held responsible for them.

Air Miles should prosecute these people for unauthorized use of their brand or for passing off. Apparently nobody else is willing to do anything about these scam artists -- so put the ball in Air Miles's court. After all, the customer keeps hearing "Air Miles" and associates it with this scam, and then stops trusting in their brand. Air Miles has the most to lose overall.
