I agree with Lissa, Verizon should get with the times. Even if they know we don't stay on the line with the surveys - who has time to do them?  We live in a world with a lot of ciber-scam artists out there.  Anyway,I got 2 calls from 916-589-8603, back to back.  one to Verizon, one from Samsung trouble shooting my phone issues. I'm not calling back.

I also had a legit call to Verizon Customer Service and this number 916-589-8603 showed up twice in my missed call folder.  I get so many Scam Artists calling me I have default ringer set as no ring.

Verizon said the call back using a 1-800 number, not this number.

I will not, ever again, call back a number that I do not recognize.   I did that, recently, and guess what?   I was charged for a call to a foreign country.    It was Jamaica.  Verizon  wanted to charge me for making the call.   I told them I was scammed into this call.   I'm glad they believed me and took the charges off the bill.
Don't answer any calls from numbers you do not recognize.   If it's important, they can leave a message.
AND --- you can always look up the number on    800 notes .com

If no message is left, the call is NOT important. They also get BLOCKED as well!

Hello Ray - I just had the same thing and also replied yes not thinking, have you had any problems since your survey call?

called VZ technical support to ask about switching sim cards to a different device. Rep was very nice. Then got 2 calls from 916-589-8603, it was automated survey bit and thinking that was fine and I would be happy to give good feedback for the service, I said 'yes' when it asked were you pleased w/the service... now I'm rethinking and worried because I heard about scammers recording your "yes" and using it to hack your finances maybe? Not sure. In any case I really hope it was actually VZ and not a scam.

Called and didn't leave a message. Probably following up on my lack of download speed, .01Mbps. Unlimited data is worthless if you can't use it.

If this is Verizon there should be a caller ID that says so.

I just called verizon then 5 minutes later got a call from this number I declined it but immediately after that they called back they left a message once but it had nothing to do with verizon surveys or anything. DEFINITELY A SCAM. I called the verizon scam number but they said they knew nothing about it, then I scrolled through this and saw that this has been happening since befor 2014!! So don’t answer!

I got a call as well. This is legitimate. However, I can not rule out the possibility of scammers forging the caller ID.

WARNING! THIS # IS A VERIFIED SCAM! TALKED TO VERIZON! PLEASE READ: I had just finished a call with Verizon Wireless customer service and within about 10 minutes of hanging up a call came in from this number with no caller ID. While ringing, I checked the area code, saw it was from Sacramento, CA and after only a few, rings the caller hung up. I looked the number up here, read the comments, anticipated a courtesy customer survey call that didn't arrive and called Verizon Wireless customer service again to make a suggestion they include Verizon in the caller ID information. The customer service representative inquired, as to what I meant because their numbers do have the Verizon information within caller ID. She took the information and shared the following I would like to also share and pass along. All Verizon calls should come from 1-888 or 1-866 and never be from a regular area code like 916 and the caller ID will state it's connected with Verizon. The customer service representative has reported this number to their fraud department and I shared I'd pass along the information she shared here, as with gave her the website address for their investigation team to see this number is a repeat offender. If you get a call from this or any unrecognized number after calling Verizon or without caller ID info, please never call the number back or provide any personal information, as Verizon Wireless does not make follow up calls, except for a customer satisfaction survey from a 1-888 or 1-866 number only asking you to rate your experience by pressing a key. Additionally Verizon has all information on file already, so never will ask you to provide any information to offer a new plan or service. If you receive a suspicious call or immediately following a call to Verizon, please contact customer service immediately and report the number with your experience. I hope this info helps and I would like to give a thank you shout out to Verizon Wireless for their help and sharing this info I'm passing along today, as with immediately taking steps to deal with resolving this scam.

If Verizon wants to hear my comments, it had better reveal who is calling because I do not answer calls with far
away area codes.  They should have learn that by now.  Why hide its name?
