These fools called me saying I won a $100.00 gift card for Wal-mart!

Stop calling

Got a call from this number, odd message saying I moved from a man.
Felt like it is some sort of scam.

I have been entering swwepstakes like crazy after seeing a program about winners. I did enter the one this caller is calling about. First prize message i have received, so when i caledl this number to get my $40.00 visa from the phone number i listed on the so called survey, it says it doesnt reconize my number to please enter the number i entered under, even after doing that it repeated the same message. It sure was the correct number otherwise they wouldnt have been able to call me. Im calling the BBB or Post Master General or someone. Afraid to enter any more sweeps now. Sooo mad

What is the purpose of them calling? what do they want is it's really a scam?

I also got a call from these people saying that i won a forty dollar visa gift card, they leave a message w/a call back # 855-556-2220 and a mess. comes on saying that it dosn't recognize my ph. # then hangs up on me.
  (Theres some kind of scam going on there).

Message states to call 855-556-2220 to claim $40 Visa gift card. Called this number from my work phone and received the message "your call cannot be completed as dialed" Interesting....

This is a scam. They called me thru automatic machine call. They call me very frequently but it is always a machine.

got a call from this number and my answer machine picked up, which I can hear from my home office and it kept going and going.. I could NOT hang up the line, it held open a connection. I waited for an operator to answer and got Tony. He asked for my name and number. I said, No, you tell me what company you are calling from. You are holding open my personal home business number and preventing me from getting other calls." He said the company is Synergy. I told him he could not hold my phone line open and needed to disconnect. He said, that was "above his pay scale abilities." seriously, that's what he said! I told him, "that means hang up, idiot." and he would not. He kept the line open for another full minute with room background noises, so I started holding down phone buttons for that horrible beeping sound. Hope he enjoyed it. report to FCC.

I fell for this after taking a survey through my land phone provider, Frontier.  INSANE ... Totally insane.

It was for a $40 Visa card but I had to buy something.  Seriously?  A reputable (???) company like Frontier associating themselves with something like this?

isn't there a law against this?

I got a message from an automated line, saying I'd won a $40 Visa gift card.  Called the number they left (855-556-2220) for a laugh - asked em to enter my phone number.  I gave a fake number, and the it asked again.  I put in my real phone number (yes, I know it means I'll just get more of these calls, but hey, they can be fun if you get a real person), at which time it thanked me and hung up. Called the NY number back on my cell phone (no way I'm making long-distance calls for a scam), and it was the exact same recording/prompt as the 855 number.  Disappointing.

Send me $300.00 or I'll send this information to the Sheriff's department.  I said send me a bill and I;ll pay the bill.  They refused.  I called the sheriff's dept. and they said it was a scam.

I got a call saying send me $300.00 or I'll notify the Sheriff.  I said send me a bill and I'll pay it if it's mine.  He refused to send me the bill.  So, I called the Sheriff's myself.  They said it was a scam.
