When I get these calls, sometimes I play a long for as long as I can just to waste their time.  I suggest everyone else do that if they have time when such calls come in.

What I mean is, I DO "press 1" or whatever it says, to "talk about lowering my interest rate" or whatever they say,  and when someone answers, I act like I'm interested, give them some slightly wrong information, etc., until they start having problems, then I keep that going for as long as I can.  Sometimes I finally tell them I knew they were scammers, and sometimes I don't.  You have to have some free minutes to do this, obviously.

I KNOW WHO'S CALLING US!! I just pulled my Equifax Credit Report and found a promotional inquiry: "PRM-FIRST INVESTORS FINANCIAL SVCS" from 02/08 and 12/07. Really, was it that easy? They have offices in Houston, Texas (I'm in Texas) and Atlanta, GA (where I hear a lot of people can get agents to admit they're located).

I called phone number on their website (https://www.fifsg.com/default.aspx) and believe it or not, the voice on the recording is the SAME voice on the recording that's been calling us..."Heather from credit services."

I know that calling them and asking to be removed from their list will do no good, but I AM contacting the Texas Attorney General! Since I am "lucky enough" to be in the same state, I hope to get a massive lawsuit started against these pesky [***]!!

If you want to be kept up to date of any the AG's response or pending suit, feel free to send me an e-mail (bustunsolicitedtelemarketers@yahoo.com) and I'll create a list. Since I'm not trying to scam you out of your info, please don't send me anything more than your first name, your state, and the email address where you'd like the updates. If you have a list of the all the phone numbers the calls have originated from, that would be helpful, too! Let's get these guys!!!

I just got a call from 207-546-2765 saying my car warranty was about to expire. It was an automated system. I thought I had hit the correct number (#2) to talk to a live representative, but the line went dead.

    I called back, disconnected.

It is registered to: Mel Donaton   (207) 546-2765   Rogers Point Rd,  Steuben, ME 04680

    Prior Post:

as stated before, this number can be traced back to

    "VERSA DEBT"

and a number of its other front companies.

they are scammers who try to get your credit card information and try to charge your credit card while you remain on the line.

it makes no difference if you report this specific number to the FCC or the DNC list, because they are using 954-733-7981 (and others) as "spoof" numbers. this means that 954-733-7981 is fake and is hiding the real number that they are calling from.

they are laughing and hanging up on you when you threaten them because they know that the average person will not realize that 954-733-7981 is a fake number, and therefore untraceable.

if you really want to put these people out of commission (and i know most of you do), you will research VERSA DEBT, find the company's real address, phone number and other information and file government complaints with their true info.

otherwise, these people will continue to harass and try to rip us off, as they will not be able to be found and held accountable to the FCC and other government agencies.

i plan on doing research on VERSA DEBT and their other companies tonight and will try to follow up this post with a list of their fake and real numbers and their real address so that all of us can file complaints at the same time and have the FCC finally stick it to these useless scammers.

I did a search on Versa Debt, as this appears to be the "company" using the number. I found this article (http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/279/RipOff0279316.htm) where a former employee describes his experiences there. It apparently is also known as Federated Financial Services and has plenty of complaints listed on the Rip Off Report website; they even started a smear campaign against the consumer advocacy website a few years back and have threatened people with bodily harm and worse, based on what I read there:

    Report linked above: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/279/RipOff0279316.htm
Link at bottom of report listed above: http://www.ripoffreport.com/searchresults.asp?submit22=Search+Latest+3+Months+of+Rip-Off+Reports+Now%21&q1=ALL&q2=&q3=&q4=&q5=Federated+Financial+Services+&q6=&q7=&searchtype=0
A posting from Feb 2007 that includes one of the FFS bosses' mug shot and assault charge related to a lawsuit against FFS: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/038/RipOff0038900.htm

    Interesting stuff....

They call me at least 3 times a week. I have asked to be removed from their list many times. Several times I tried using their automated system. Once I attempted to be removed by one of their operators, who hung up on me. Once I actually reached a guy was was very nice, apologized, and promised to remove my phone number. The calls continue. They have identified themselves as the Warrantee Activation Center and claim they operate out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

I think Im am going to take it up with mu local politician that want my vote this year, if the phone companied CAN NOT take any action, then they need NOT take my money right. I suggest to all to tell your phone companied just that. Thanks for letting me vernt.
