This call came in offering to reduce my credit card interest to "as low as 6.9%" or something like that, but only if I had at least $4,000 in debt!

Since they didn't identify themselves, and since I'm on the Do Not Call list, it sounds eerily similar to the car warranty call scam that the FTC shut down last month, run out of Florida, Delaware and Illinois.

In that scam, bogus or useless car warranties were offered to people and marketed using random number dialing, evasive and unqualified sales people, and no way to get taken off the list.

got this call @ 6:57pm today. Recorded message that this is last warning about my credit card account. Problem is I don't have any kind of credit card, so how can I get a warning. Nothing but scammers! Well that's what I get when I register on the the Do-Not-call list here in Canada and our government sells our numbers.

Got just a call from this number with a caller ID from Massachusetts which is weird since I'm from Vancouver, Canada.  Answering machine had an automated message about credit card, cheesh. I'm part of the "do not call list" too.

We received this call today as well about the credit card.  We are also part of Canada's "Do Not Call list".  I think the list is only for Canada numbers and they also request the name of the company that called.

Received this call today, and pressed 1 after they told me it was my second and final notice to reduce my credit card interest. As I have never had interest on my credit cards, I pressed one and when 'Carlos' answered and started into his spiel without a pause, I interrupted and told him to 'Take me off their ****ing call list' and then hung up! I am also on Canada's DNC list.

Received a call from this number at 2:00pm.  I am in Ontario Canada.  The call was nothing but dead are after several "Hello's" line when dead.

I receive several calls from this number at 5am everyday. Every time I pick up the line is dead. I called Bell and they can't do anything about it.And I'm on the "Do not call list"

i called them, and had automated response to remove my number. We'll see if that works!

Received a call from 1-978-570-2339 on Friday, June 19'09 at 1:08PM, caller did not leave a message. I saw the # on my caller ID.

Based on the above-mentioned comments this telephone # certainly appears suspicious in nature.

can't someone investigate these calls and shut down the #?

Just received a call from this number.  Didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number and now I'm glad I didn't.  I get a LOT of calls about reducing my credit card interest but I don't recall if any of them were from this number before or not.l

I got a call from 978-570-2339 at 1:10 yesterday and no message was left on voicemail.  I'm also on the DNC list - Ottawa, Ontario.

received same call as the person writing about the credit card rates. at the end of the message one of the options is to press (3) to be removed from list and then there is dead air

Automated call even if I am in Do not Call list

Got a call from 978-570-2339 but the caller did not leave a message (my voicemail greeting tells telemarketers to remove my number from their list).  I don't answer these calls (especially coming from outside Canada) as these scammers know that the DoNotCall list does not apply if they care calling from outside Canada.  I subscribe to Call Block (*60) so that they don't get through the next time they call.

Call came at approximately 1640. Picked up the phone..didn't speak..waited and nobobdy on the other end spoke..I hung up.

Had them call me at home at 10:33 am in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, but they left no message on my voicemail.
