- Fed UpJust a short time ago we received a recorded call from "Heather at Account Services" about our "eligibility for lowering our credit card interest rates to as low as 6.9%."
We were then instructed to 'press one' to speak to an operator to avail ourselves of this opportunity or to 'press two' to discontinue these notices.
Obviously we pressed two, but this is not the first time we have received this type of call.
I have reported this number to www . donotcall . gov and would suggest that everyone here do the same. If they call back repeatedly and are harassing you, then it's time to report them to your phone company (or cell phone service provider) and ask for them to intercede on your behalf to block these idiotic lawbreakers.- Caller: "CREDIT SERVICES"

- wow replies to Just Us| 1 replyYour grandfather is very lucky to have you! Since he needs the phone, you might want to think about having his phone number changed. That may give him (and you) some peace of mind for the time being. If that is not possible, you might want to suggest to him (probably again) that he only pick up the phone when he is sure that he knows who is calling him -- otherwise let the answering machine screen out all the other callers. These scam artists are cunning and think nothing about harassing and scamming our elders.
- SlakkieJust got the same thing today - I pressed 1 to no longer be called. What idiots. And I am on the DNC list as well.

- MikeThey called me but I missed the call. When I called back I got a recording that said press 1 to be put on our do not call list (or something like that)
If they do call again, I'd like to blow a whistle in their ear.I think it's only fair to harrass the harassers, don't you?
Is it illegal to do that?
If it is illegal, then my next question Why does our government make laws to protect these companies, but not us????- Caller: unknown
- eightyjIf a live person comes on the line just say;"First, let me inform you that this call is being recorded for possible future legal action. Second, please do not call this number again and put it on your Do Not Call list. Now, what did you wish to speak to me about?"
- Dushan29I got a call and when I saw "Credit Services," I did not answer. They left no message. I don't know what they want. If they know my telephone No., surely they know where I live. So, they can send me a letter.
- Caller: Credit Services
- JayThanks for reporting these jerks. I am sure something will happen soon as the velocity is picking up with these types of calls. Frightening really! I was gone a week and I now have 3 different unwanted numbers to block. Just don't give out personal info over the phone.
- Caller: don't know
- Call type: Debt collector
- MissMissI answered & it was an automated response from someone named 'Heather' from Credit Services. Basically it said my current credit card is eligible for a lower interest rate and I would need to call a different number to take care of it. No company name was given right away, so I knew just to hang up & never heard the second number to call. I haven't gotten any other calls from them, yet.
- Caller: Credit Services?
- LHodI got a call from this number and they guy was very abrupt. He said he wanted to help me reduce my interest rates. I asked him which bank he was affiliated with and he kept saying he works with Master Card and Visa. He wanted me to confirm the rest of my credit card info because all he had was the first digit - a four (doesn't everyone have a credit card that starts with a 4???). Once I told him I wasn't interested he abruptly said "enjoy your high interest rates" and hung up! If that kind of customer service isn't suspicious, I don't know what is!! Stay clear of giving them any info!
- Skinny BillHey, don't screw around with them, or even try to be courteous.
These are bottom of the barrell scumbag scam artists. They ran your credit report and see you have a whole lot of unsecured debt. They want you to pay them a whole lot of money for a promise they will get your debt reduced and interest rate lowered.
All they can do is wreck your credit and steal your money. Cuss at them, especially the females ... use the "C" word frequently, tell them how bad they smell, even over a phone line.
And, yes, they are telemarketers and can be fined a whole lot of money if they persist in bothering you.
DO NOT BE GENTLE ... these [***] are the scum of the earth.
Scum like that makes you want to take a baseball bat to them. May even be worth a trip to Boston to wack a few as they leave work.- Caller: credit services
- Skinny BillHey .. quit being so naive. Cuss them out and tell them not to call again and hang up.
- Caller: credit services
- Harpo replies to Wasting my time!If you gave them your credit card information they are about to fleece you good. You better call your creditcard co's and protect yourself.
- MitchWoke me up and I did not answer. (West Coast here)
- ReddogRecorded message comes on stating there is nothing wrong with your credit card but you may be able to get a lower rate. Click 1 to get a represenative. I am on the do not call list so I have no objection when they answer to abuse them verbally and I mean I am not polite. By the way I do not have a credit card so they do not have my permission to call.
