Some a**hole keeps calling my number. Last call was 12/13/14 at 3:37p cst from Midland, MI (which I doubt). I say again...I wish I could ease my both hands through the phone line, pull toward me and beat the f**k out of them.

These people keep calling.  I did answer the phone again just to see if its the same people selling the same thing.  Scammers often run several different types of scams from the same phone number.  Yesterday I spoke with a woman with a heavy Eastern Indian accent asking if I had a computer with windows that was slow......  Today I spoke with a man with a heavy Eastern Indian accent.  The phone number is actually from Midland, Michigan.  Whether the people are in Midland or overseas is anyone's guess.  They could be anywhere, but the phone number says Midland.  It is impossible to get details on just a phone number these days unless you work with the FBI.  The phone ID had "Unknown Caller" on it, so this is NOT a company that is legit, like Microsoft.  It comes across like a scam.  The caller said my computer is slow because it has a virus blah blah blah.....I told him My husband is an IT director and our computers are working fine, and I told him he was a liar.  He hung up on me.  What do you want to bet, they will call back anyway.  

The fact that it is not against the law to spoof a name and number for Caller ID is a disgrace.  This is a giant sweatshop in India someplace, but the number comes up from Midland, Michigan.  It's NOT.  It is in some f*ing sh*t-hole in India.

If our lazy-ass politicians would put some laws in place, fining and putting PHONE COMPANY executives in jail for letting thieves and criminals look like legitimate businesses, then we might see an end to this total BS.  The time wasted by all of us is a higher cost to the economy than the amount lost by the hapless fools and morons who fall for this crap.

It IS legal to spoof numbers, but not for illegal purposes, such as the [***], and others do. Anyone can do it, but not to deceive others for fraudulent purposes.

Have been receiving several calls from this number (989 832 8978)  in the evenings for about 2 weeks. No one ever talks, just a beep after 10 or 20 sec. It is very irritating! Can something be done about this? I tried calling the number back but a recording says not in service.??  Would appreciate any help that can be provided.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

At this point I am really mad at these people.  I have asked them 3 times now to remove me from their listing, and told them I am on the do not call list. So they have now on a list that calls me several times per hour.  That gives you an idea of what kind of people they are. They are scammers, and we know that already, but its time to get them rounded up and dealt with.
I am going to file out a complaint every time they call.  Please join me and do the same!  If we get enough of these complaints in to the FCC it will eventually get the attention that it needs. I have been told that they are already on the radar and being investigated.  File a complaint Please!  Lets fry them!

This company is likely overseas in India.  They are using a Michigan phone number.  They are phone scammers.  They have messed up some peoples computers.....just report them to the FCC   .    Call your congressman, do something.  We all have to do something to raise up more awareness about these scammers that are out there.  Let the FBI find out where they are, and do something.  When they call you and you pick up it lets their computer system know that a person lives at that number, and your number goes onto a list for them to call back.  So they know you are there and they will call back.  Just don't answer or have them blocked, they are vindictive.  I asked them not to call anymore, I told them I am on the do not call list....now they are calling me every hour.  They are scammers, crooks and indecent people!  File a complaint!

The 989-832-8978 Midland MI phone number has been spoofed.  The phone number probably belonged to some innocent person who kept getting call backs from people and has had to disconnect it.  Google this to find out more about this scam.

I had this phone number on my caller ID three times, no message.  Then they call when I am at home could not get to the phone in time, they never left an messages. Then they call about an hour later, I answer it, someone with a jamacian accent saying something about a computer.  I told them I was on the do not call list and do not call me again.

These people call every day. Multiple times a day. It's always an Indian guy with a thick accent. His name is always Daniel and just like everyone else is saying, he says he needs to get a virus off of my Windows computer. I have told them to stop calling many times. The last time they called, I told them I am going to file a report with the police. I am just going to block the number.

I tried to tell him that i work at Microsoft and that they will never call anyone. I told him that there is no way that windows can know that a computer has a virus.

Same as all the other calls.  Folks, these crooks aren't just messing with you.  They want to install remote access on your computer so they can do anything they want with it.  Don't mess with them, just block the number and report the violation.  I just did.  Of course they'll just spoof another number, so I'll have to go through the same exercise in a day or two.  

Don't know anyone in Midland, MI. Several call received and did answer person had a heavy accent and could not speack English hung up on them twice.

Told me long speal about how my computer needed updates. I told them I did not own a computer.  (Oops - did I lie?) Result - he hung up. Maybe he will stop calling?

Received telephone call 12/17/14 at 6:38p cst from Midland, TX. I just repeat everything he say. Boy, was he about to blow a gasket. I couldn't help but laugh. He hung up.

Told them nicely to quit calling me about my computer than 30 minutes later the same number called again and he tells me it's not about my computer he is from KFC and wants to know what I want for dinner

I got a call at 8:59 PM PST.  I ignore any phone number that I do not recognize and let it ring.  My answering machine is set to answer after the 5th or 5th ring and these clowns always hang up after the 4th ring.

I got a call at 8:59 PM PST.  I ignore any phone number that I do not recognize and let it ring.  My answering machine is set to answer after the 5th or 6th ring and these clowns always hang up after the 4th ring.  If it rings more than 4 times I look to see if a message has been recorded.  So far I have not had to talk to a scumer.  My wife will sometime answer the phone even after I have said "ignore it".  Each time she does it I ask her why she answered and she says "I thought it might be an important call" but it never is.  I love this site.

The scum just called at 10:02PM PST.  It was all I could do not to answer and play silly games or as my MCRD San Diego DI would "throw some [***] into the game".  I just found out that a friend of my wife fell for this scam this morning, this poor woman knows better than to answer a call from an unknown number but she had been having some computer problems and "how wonderful! how much Microsoft cares about me"
