So you're telling me they hit you up for money for your "free giftcard".

LOL, Hey if you had a spare P.O. box, Tell them to send you the gift card AND a prepaid envelope FIRST,
And when you get it you'll buy and send them a gift card with $4.95 on it.

no credit card or personal info needed :)

Next time they call you, tell them to subtract the dollar from your "free gift card" and just send the balance of $24...

Also, when people try to get me to purchase an extended warranty (as some do after you make a major purchase) I say, "I thought your products were reliable!  Maybe I should return it.  It's apparent you don't have much faith in what you sell..."

    OR
I say something like this,  "Oh no,  I have complete faith in your product,  don't YOU? "

    For sales calls, etcetera:
If you have time you can keep them on the phone for as long as possible. Tell them to hold on while you:
Turn down the volumn on the TV
    Get your glasses
    Get a pen
Tell them, "Oh, that sounds interesting!  Can you repeat that? " (their sales pitch in its entirety)  while you get a cup of coffee...
    you get the idea!

The scammers just called me 10 minutes ago. I missed the call so I called the number on caller Id back (210) 593-3277. It was a local call. They answered saying that they had called because I had won a $100 gift card to Walmart and all I had to do was pay the $4.95 shipping fee. They actually called it a rebate card. I said if its as rebate card then what do I have to buy? They said no its good for $100 purchase on anything in the store. I said well thats not a rebate card. A rebate card means you have to buy something first. I said so I could buy groceries?  They said yes. They said they would transfer me to the shipping handler once I successfully paid for the shipping charge. They ask for my name and I spelled it. But then I realized where thus was going and I hung up on them. The lady did have a strong accent but her english was pretty good.

I called a 1 800 625 6886 by mistake, nothing related to anything, and got Mr. Patel (LOL). Would not tell me what company I had called, went strait to the script. Told him I have no credit or debit 4 times then he hung up on me. I Googled walmart and found this site.
What we need is a website where we can put in a phone no. and get the name who owns the number.

Unfortunately a lot of these scams and robocalls use spoofing (give a false number) so it's not likely we'd find their true identity.

How did you pay the $1?  If you paid by credit or debit card you need to cancel that card right now.  If you gave them your bank account number you need to get that number changed.

Any financial information you gave the scammer needs to be changed.  He is using that information to steal all of your money.

I was also called by an indian accent guy about a 100 dollar gift card that could be used anywhere in Walmart, Target, Bestbuy and HomeDepo. They asked me for debit card info and said that they needed it for the shipping cost of the gift card which was 5.95. I unfortunately gave them my info and had to cancel my card. So be aware and not give your info to unknown callers.

Who needs a gift card from walmart anyway.  Find what you need, pay cash and leave.  Everyone of these major
retailers are mixed up with card number thieves and scammers anyway. Target was a pretty good store, for some
stuff anyway, but now I only visit once a year.  Loose my card informaiton and your history.

How did you pay the $1? If you gave them a debit or credit card, they now can clean you out. Cancel your credit card or close your bank account. NEVER give these people any info over the phone!! Don't believe a voice on the phone promising you something for a fee.
