I am glad to see the internet used in a positive way, my wife received the Global Test Market letter (western union scam) with a check for $3,990.00 from Sandia Area federal credit union out of NM. I did a google search and this 800 notes blog was a result. After reading all these posts I did more research and found out it was a scam. I contacted the FBI and they are aware of the scam and I also contacted the credit union and they are aware of the scam as well. Hopefully these people are brought to justice, I cannot imagine people preying on others during tough economic times, I want to thank everyone on this blog for putting your experience on the internet, it is all about people helping and educating people!
That is what I call attention to detail. I got the same check and group director. Thanks for sharing.

I cashed the check also I knew it was a scam but I cashed it because I needed the money what do I do now?
Call the bank. Give them all the money. They will probably want even more money to pay a fee for depositing a bad check. If you pay it back now before the check bounces the bank probably won't file criminal charges. If you wait the bad check fee will be even higher and the bank might have you arrested.

Hi everyone. Guess what I just got in the mail on 9/11/2011, yep that's right a letter from "Global Test Market" address 1100 112th av 1351 Washington Blvd. Suite 5000 Stanford, CT 06902 They say in the letter I can get $200.00 a week to start mystery shopping, and it came with a check for 3,990.00 guess what there phone # is? Oh all right I'll tell you, it says on the letter there # is 1-800-919-9694 and fax 1-866-791-2284 The envelope does have a Canada stamp with a picture of a fox and the # 103 on it and the check says its from Tech Cu P.O Box 1409 San Jose 95109. I would like to personally thank all the other people who blew the whistle on this and hope the info in this message will help bring these fiends who are trying to steal my money to justice or a cold damp pit the likes of witch they will never be able to climb out of. :) Though shalt not steal.
Loved your response to those scammers, I wish you the best of luck with the anal wiping. :) Make it a juicy one. Just for me.

Yes me too received a check for $3,990.00 well, just too good to be true when we are stugling financially. I even called a # in the letter 905 781 0234 and talked with a guy that sounded like he just woke up and back ground sounds like he was on a cell phone. I got suspicious right away, and googled it and this is what I see, not surprised :)

I just got this check in the mail an hour ago. my check however is from Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union in Abilene, Texas and the letter is from Stamford, CT. I guess tomorrow i need to call the FBI and the bank in Texas and let them know about this scam. I really thought this whole thing was real. I know the there are some "mysetery shopper" jobs that are real, and i've been applying for them everywhere i see them. Bad idea i guess. Thanks for your notes guys.

I have been a victim of this scam for $ 2,500. GlobalTest and this guy Mark White is a professional fraud. I was too late to see these postings, I feel sorry for myself and my family. But for those of you who would receive any checks from GlobalTest, please tear them right away throw them in the garbage. God will deal with these EVIL PEOPLE!!
